SEEK…..WHOM SHALL WE SEEK?
SEEK.
This word does not take up much space upon a page, and in its smallness, the word come be overlooked; yet, in its question, in the LARGENESS of the word, SEEK is HUGE.
The Question—-What do we seek most?
The Question—–When do we seek what we seek most?
The Question—-How do we go about seeking that which we seek?
The Question—-Where do we seek what we seek?
The Question—-Why do we seek & Why must we seek that which we seek.
And Finally, The Ultimate
Question—–WHO DO WE SEEK DAILY WITH OUR HEART, SOUL, MIND, & STRENGTH?
In so many passages in God’s Word, & in so many instances within the Holy Scriptures, and in so many biblically true narratives, and in so many modern-day situations, we see the power of the One we seek. “One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek; That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the LORD. And to meditate in His temple” (Psalm 27: 4).
So, So often we see the evidence of God’s amazing power.
Easter Sunday brings us to our knees & our hands lifted up as we celebrate, worship, and praise the resurrection of Jesus Christ from death to life.
- Everything we believe as Christians rests upon a risen LORD. God did raise Jesus from death to life. The Roman soldiers were thoroughly skilled at their task. They never failed. Jesus died upon the cross at Calvary.
- The cry of Jesus upon the cross, “It is finished,” as He gave up His life for all to see proves Jesus died upon the cross.
- The spear driven through His side before sundown, before the beginning of Sabbath proves Jesus died upon the cross.
- The burial in a borrowed tomb, the unused tomb of Joseph proves Jesus died upon the cross.
- The darkness permeating the earth, and the earthquakes rattling the earth’s core, and the dead bodies raising to life all prove God was performing a miraculous revelation on that Holy Friday.
- Jesus died. It is a historical fact. The Roman soldiers guarding the tomb prove it so. The heavy stone rolled into place, covering the entrance proves Jesus died upon the cross.
- Then three days later……it was a Sunday…….Resurrection Sunday…….Almighty God raised Jesus to life.
- How do we know?
- How do we know we seek a risen Savior, a risen LORD?
- Over 500 people saw Jesus alive!!!
- It’s a historical fact!!!
- Jesus walked, talked, ate, moved, breathed—-ALIVE for 40 days AFTER HE DIED & AFTER GOD RAISED JESUS BACK TO LIFE.PROVEN!!!!!
- WE SERVE A RISEN LORD.
- WE SEEK TO FOLLOW A RISEN LORD.
- Once we SEEK Jesus’ forgiveness for our salvation, accepting that His blood on the cross covered the multitude of our sins, and believe that Jesus Christ Is Who He Say He Is, then God’s Holy Spirit takes up residence within us. We become the temple, the vessel of God as His presence walks with us throughout every day.
“One thing (David wrote in his psalm) I have asked from the LORD, [one thing] that I shall seek” (verse 4). “That I may dwell in the house [that God will dwell within me] of the LORD all the days of my life” (verse 4). “To behold the beauty [the delightfulness, the salvation of God] of the LORD” (verse 4). “And to meditate [upon God & upon His Living Word] in His temple [in my heart, soul, and mind, and strength]” (verse 4). - SEEK—–Even in all capital letters, still it is so small upon the page.
- SEEK—–What, When, Where, Why, How, Who—–Within the Answer to this one word drives the entire summation of Every Life.
- Who do we see with our heart, soul, mind, and strength?
- Jesus provided us with the answer in so many ways and in so many passages within His Holy Scripture. Jesus said, in Matthew’s Gospel—-“But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things [what we wear, what we eat, what we do, where we go, how we go ALL the things of life] will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). Jesus also said, “You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with your soul, and with all your mind. This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it. You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets”. (Matthew 22:37-40).
- WHO are we to seek every day?
- WHO do we celebrate today….on Easter?
- WHO has risen from the dead?
- WHO lives today within us?
- WHO is seated at the right hand of God?
- WHO provides us the only way to God’s eternal salvation?
- WHO will stand again and return again to earth?
- WHO IS the SAVIOR of the whole world?
- WHO lives in me……….Who lives in you?
- The answer……..JESUS CHRIST THE SAVIOR OF THE WORLD!!!
- That is His Name…..JESUS…….the Only Name that Truly Matters!!!!
