Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Through Him!

“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,

in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.”

(Colossians 1:  13-14)

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world—we are moved from walking in darkness, going toward the darkness to walking in His Light, going toward the Light of the world—toward God.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the Redeemer—we receive God’s salvation, the forgiveness of our sins committed against God.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the glorious Son of God—we are healed in Jesus’ name.

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through Him and for Him.

He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

(Colossians 1:  15-17)

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the visible God—we see God in how He loves us.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the man-God—we find truth, we receive wisdom, and we experience spiritual growth.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the person of God—we begin to understand what comes after our death.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, our Savior—we find the importance of our tombstone dash.  We find how it matters—not because of what we store up here on earth but because of what treasures we store in heaven.  Yes, our faith-walk here on earth reveals “WHOSE” we are & “WHO” we call Father.

Consider how Jesus spoke to the man paralyzed.

“ ’But, so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins,’—He said to the paralytic—‘I say to you, get up, and pick up your stretcher and go home.’

Immediately he got up before them, and picked up what he had been lying on, and went home glorifying God.

They were all struck with astonishment and began glorifying God;  and they were filled with fear, saying, ‘We have seen remarkable things today.’ ”

(Luke 5: 24-26)

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the healer, the Great Physician—we are healed.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the Miracle-Maker—we are able to stand up, pick up our stretcher, and walk in newness of life.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the King of Kings—we are able to glorify and worship Almighty God.

“He is also head of the body, the church;  and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.

For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,

and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross;  through Him, I say, whether on earth or things in heaven.”

(Colossians 1:  18-20)

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the Redeemer—we receive fellowship with God, our heavenly Father.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the Cornerstone—the church was born.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the Reconciliation—we receive peace because of Jesus’ shed blood.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the Son of God—we walk with God as we temporarily live here on earth, allowing us to prepare for the day we arrive home in heaven, through God’s Holy Spirit.

“And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,

yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—

If indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.”

(Colossians 1:  21-23)

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the Lion of Judah—we receive Salvation.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the Son of God made flesh—we are not separated, not alienated, but made sons and daughters, heirs of God.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, the blameless One—we have redemption & hope.

Through Him—Jesus Christ, “the way, the truth, & the life”we receive a “faith firmly established and steadfast. . . .”

The melody “I Wish We’d All Been Ready” speaks with somberness the TRUTH of God—through Him—Jesus Christ—the sacrificial Lamb of God.

“Life was filled with guns and war/And everyone got trampled on the floor/

I wish we’d all been ready.

Children died/The days grew cold/A piece of bread could buy a bag of gold/

I wish we’d all been ready.

There’s no time to change your mind/The son has come and you’ve been left behind.”

The TRUTH of God—Jesus Christ IS Coming Again!

Praise be to God—through Him—through Jesus—through Christ—we are made FREE!

Through Him—Through the Son of God—Through Him, the Savior—we become sons and daughters!

Through Him—Through Christ Jesus—we receive fellowship with Father God!
