Only ONE WORTHY—Our SAVIOR & our LORD & our KING—ALMIGHTY GOD!
During the course of the past two days, I have awoken with a solitary word in my head. Yesterday, the word emblazoned across my mind was the word “boast,” and today, the word seen in extremely large letters written across my mind—“WORTHY.”
I do not believe this is happenstance.
“WORTHY”
John, the beloved apostle of Jesus, wrote these words as they were revealed to him during the time he was alone, exiled on the isle of Patmos, incarcerated, a prisoner, but most importantly—a child of God & a servant of the Most High. SEE WITH ME GOD’S WORD.
“I saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a book written inside and on the back, sealed up with seven seals.
And I saw a strong angel proclaiming with a loud voice, ‘Who is worthy to open the book and to break its seals?’
And no one in heaven or on the earth or under the earth was able to open the book or to look into it.
Then I began to weep greatly because no one was found worthy to open the book or to look into it;
and one of the elders said to me, ‘Stop weeping; behold the Lion that is from the tribe of Judah, the Root of David has overcome so as to open the book and its seven seals.’
And I saw . . .”
(Revelation 5: 1-6a)
Then John began to describe in words what he saw within his vision God had provided, one that gives us a glimpse of heaven & God’s throne & of the Son of God.
As I sat reading this image, I was overwhelmed.
My eyes were drawn to the song that was sung.
“And they sang a new song, saying,
‘Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
You have made them to be a kingdom and priests to our God; and they will reign upon the earth.’
Then I looked, and I heard [the apostle John looked and heard] the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,
(Revelation 5: 9-12a)
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.“
(Revelation 5:12)
Despite where we are in level of our spiritual maturity, one fact remains: We are loved BECAUSE of GOD’S GRACE in JESUS CHRIST!
The TRUTH is the TRUTH is the TRUTH!
It is—
INDISPUTABLE!
FOUNDATIONAL!
ROCK SOLID!
WE ARE LOVED BECAUSE of GOD’S GRACE IN THE BELOVED SAVIOR JESUS CHRIST!
Despite where we live &
Despite what career we do &
Despite whether we come from royalty or not &
Despite what family we are born into—Let us each hang on tightly to the TRUTH of GOD!
- WE CAN REJOICE.
- WE CAN REMEMBER & REMAIN ASSURED.
- WE HAVE BEEN PURCHASED & WASHED CLEAN BY THE SHED BLOOD of THE LAMB!
May we CONTINUALLY REJOICE because our LORD FOREVERMORE REIGNS!
- JESUS REMAINS WITH US!
- GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT REMAINS WITHIN US!
- GOD, OUR FATHER, IS FOR US!
- WE ARE BELOVED BECAUSE OF GOD!
- Our Joy is Rooted in the work of JESUS!
May we lift up our hands and bow down as we sing—
“God Has Us!
He has a purpose, a plan!
God does!
He is sovereign!
He is WORTHY!”
God holds us tightly within His hand!
God forevermore loves us & keeps us!
“Will you Walk with Me?” God asks us, His children today.
“Come Holy Spirit,” we cry aloud. We pray for this. We hope for this. We yearn for this. “Help us God wait upon Your timing, and help us not to rush in, rush ahead, or rush to do the work that only YOU can do. For You, God, YOU are the only one WORTHY!
Help us live in a way so that our actions, our attitudes, and our conversations draw people toward the TRUTH of God.
Help us remember, today, the serious task You have bestowed upon us to do, the serious business of walking—Led by the Holy Spirit of God.
Help us live alert, ready, obedient, and focused—always prepared to love out loud & to give our testimony to tell another how Jesus made us brand new.
Help us to live—prayerfully—walking through our days led by the HOLY SPIRIT of GOD!
Father God, help us to walk worthy of our calling You have given us to walk as children of Almighty God.
This is our prayer.
This is our song.
We ask these things, Father.
We pray.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.”
Thus, let us continually praise and worship God, the Only ONE WORTHY!
In worshipping this morning, I heard a beautiful melody by SEU Worship titled “Walk With You,” and so as I leave, help us remember: there is only one way to truly GO HOME when our life here on earth is done.
“Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.
In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.
If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.
And you know the way where I am going.“
Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”
Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
(John 14: 1-6)
Let us live with intentionality, alive, living for God, living within His purpose—His Will—loving out Loud, living with intentionality, living this day—walking, doing, loving, prayerfully following the will of God through the precious blood of Jesus flowing through us—living with the mind of Christ, running hard as we can toward Jesus until we arrive home.
My whole life, whether long or whether short, belongs to You, God.
We can rejoice THIS DAY because we serve a risen Savior!
Sing with me the song that the apostle John heard during the vision God gave him to see.
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.’
And every created thing which is in heaven and on the earth and under the earth and on the sea, and all things in them, I heard saying,
‘To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever.’
And the four living creatures kept saying, ‘Amen.’ And the elders fell down and worshipped [HIM—OUR SAVIOR, OUR LORD, OUR KING—ALMIGHTY GOD—THE ONLY ONE WORTHY!].”
(Revelation 5: 12-14)
