Eight words Jesus speaks—now, to us, His disciples, the children of God.
Eight words Jesus SPEAKS.
I wonder, do we need to meditate upon the eight words of Jesus—this day—Today?
Yes, I think we do.
“When it was evening, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and He was alone on the land.
Seeing them straining at the oars, for the wind was against them, at about the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea; and He intended to pass by them.
But when they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed it was a ghost and cried out;
For they all saw Him and were terrified. But immediately He spoke with them and said to them,
“Take courage; it is I, do not be afraid.”
Then He got into the boat with them and the wind stopped; and they were utterly astonished, . . .
(Mark 6: 47-51)
“Don’t be afraid. Take courage. I am here.”

Dr. Charles Stanley said, “We cannot grow close to God unless we make it a point to spend time with Him.”
I wonder, do we need to spend time with Jesus—this day—Today?
Yes, I think we do.
Notice Jesus. Yes, let us always pay close attention to what Jesus does, to what Jesus is doing, to what Jesus has done. Yes, let us.
“Seeing them straining at the oars,”—Jesus sees our struggles.
“He came to them,”—Jesus is always near; Jesus always comes into our battle.
“But immediately He spoke with them”—Jesus speaks calm to our hearts—Immediately!
Jesus “said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Take courage. I am here.”—Eight words that changed their fear to peace.
“Then He got into the boat with them”—Jesus steps right into the midst of our struggle—with us!
“and the wind stopped;”—the peace of God calms us—Always!
”and they were utterly astonished,”—Every day, Every moment—let us be utterly astonished at the power and peace and calm God provides!
I AM HERE
We don’t need to “steer clear” of life, of our struggles, of what grips us in fear.
We don’t need to criticize our situation, speaking aloud words of dismay.
We don’t need to be afraid.
We need to trust Jesus!
We need to remember that Jesus never leaves us!
We need to see the power, the miracle, the way God changes our hearts!
We need to spend time with God; we need to grow in our faith!
We need to not be afraid; We need to take courage; We need to see that He is near!
We need to invite Jesus into the boat, into our struggle!
We need to see with clarity the way Jesus stops the waves of fear crashing overtop of us!
We need to stand—utterly astonished—keeping our eyes upon Jesus!
We need the power and peace and calm God provides—Every Single Day.
We need—
