A walk through life toward eternity

Never Taste Death!!!

What does death taste like?
There are many things in life that we just don’t wish to taste——EVER!
Like Castro Oil. If we have EVER had to drink this unlovely, nasty-tasting, supposedly-curing liquid, then NEVER DO WE EVER WANT TO TASTE IT AGAIN because if we DO, then we just might DIE!!!!!
Like Chocolate Cake that tastes NOT like chocolate BUT RATHER ONLY “looks” like chocolate to a kid, but is REALLY Apple Stack Cake.  “Give me a big slice please.” As a child who enjoyed a good piece of chocolate cake, there was nothing better than a HUGE piece of chocolate cake in a bowl with a splash of milk on top.   Yet, there is NEVER enough liquid in the world to swallow down cake that was NOT chocolate but apples stacked together in the “appearance” of chocolate cake.  A kid might just DIE IF she thought it was chocolate and EVER had to swallow IT, TO TASTE WHAT WAS NOT CHOCOLATE CAKE, AGAIN!!!
Like a girl who loved days outside playing with the tractors in the dirt with her brother, the girl who ran in the wind with full abandonment from tree to tree, hiding as her brother, “the sheriff in town” chased her around the front yard, and the stringy-haired girl who absolutely loved hand-me-downs from her cousin Robby.   Yes, Because—–She just might DIE IF (as a kid) she were made to wear lace and ribbons out to play INSTEAD OF “Robby’s clothes” fashioned with DURABILITY.

What does death taste like?

Do we EVER want to find out, to taste IT?

Today or Tomorrow or Next Year or When we are “old” or like Ever?
I cannot imagine Death Tastes LIKE ANYTHING WE’VE EVER TASTED BEFORE——NOT even really as bad as thick Castro Oil—–OR——Not even as bad as cake that is NOT chocolate cake—–OR—–NOT even as bad as wearing frilly dresses that a kid can’t run and climb and play in as she races across the Indiana prairie dirt.

YES, Death would Taste Much Worse!!!! FOR SURE!!!

There are just some things in life that we do not ever wish to taste—EVER!!!

Thank You Jesus, we don’t have to taste death.

Thank You Jesus, You tasted death for us.

Thank You Jesus, the Bible (God’s Word) speaks this truth about death. AND

Thank You Jesus, we can fully believe IT.

“But we do see Him who was made for a little while lower than the Angel’s, namely Jesus, because of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone. For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to perfect the author of their salvation through sufferings. For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one Father; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren, saying, ‘I WILL PROCLAIM YOUR NAME TO MY BRETHREN, IN THE MIDST OF THE CONGREGATION I WILL SING YOUR PRAISE.’

And again, ‘I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM.’

And again, ‘BEHOLD, I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME.’

Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, He Himself likewise also partook of the same, that through death He might render powerless him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and might free those who through fear of death were subject to slavery all their lives.”  (Hebrews  2:9–15)

What does death taste like?

Castro Oil? Chocolate-Less Apple Cake? Girly Clothing Not Durable For Barn Play?
Obviously, Death Does NOT Taste Like Any of these things.

Obviously NOT.

AND……..Death is also NOT something a Believer, a Christian, a Child of God will Ever Taste!
WHY?

Because Jesus, the Son of Man, suffered through it for us, so that we would Never Taste Death.

Because Jesus, the Son of God, finished upon Calvary’s cross death for each of us, so that we would Never Taste Death.

Because Jesus, our LORD and Savior sanctifies us, preparing us for eternal LIFE, so that we would Never Taste Death.

Because Jesus, Who IS God, Who Is Trustworthy, & Who Is the promise keeper, Tasted Death For Us so that we would Never, Ever Need to Taste Death.

Because Jesus who lived on earth as flesh and blood, rendered Death powerless, so that We—-the children of God —-would never fear death or be a slave to IT.

Because Jesus made the power of death (that is the devil)———–POWERLESS!!!
THAT’S WHY!!!!
