Children & Time–Both Are A Blessing From Almighty God
Children are a blessing from God. As adults, who enjoy the presence of our parents, we only need to pause, to see the value of our own parents to understand this truth—Children are a blessing from God.
As once children ourselves, as those who have grown into adulthood, who can now reflect upon the homes we were born into when we were children, we only need to pause, to see the value of our own homes, of our parents, of our mentors, and of our childhood teachers—to see the value, to understand the truth—Children are a blessing from Almighty God.
Travel back with me to 1991. I had graduated from the university with my teaching degree, and truthfully, I thought two things would occur—
- I would walk directly and quickly into a teaching position, after having decided to continue my education to seek a second degree in education, after using my Associate degree in Communication to work for a few years in media. &
- I would immediately become pregnant, having decided after five years of marriage to conceive a child.
There is a TRUTH we must consider first—OUR DAYS OF LIFE DO NOT NECESSARILY ALIGN TO GOD’S TIMING—TO THAT WHICH HE HAS ALLOTTED US TO LIVE ON EARTH!
OUR TIMING—NOT NECESSARILY GOD’S TIMING!
We would do well to ponder this deeply within our hearts because God uses ALL THINGS to HIS GLORY—even our waiting, even our struggles, even our despair, even our hardships, even our entire everything.
We would do well to ponder this deeply within our hearts, a TRUTH—GOD IS GOD & WE ARE NOT!
We look at our calendars and see days, weeks, months, and a full calendar year. In fact, before December ended, I purchased a new wall calendar for my office. Even though I did not wish to take down the one gifted to me by someone I love, one filled with photos of childhood memories, one created out of love—still, I knew that a 2021 calendar would be of no value to 2022. Truthfully, do we ever wish to look at an outdated calendar and count forward the days of the week needed to carry us to the present day, to the correct day of the year. NO, I do not think so; thus, we do what most of the world does: We purchase a new calendar for the new year.
Now, maybe we are reading this deluge of words and wondering, “How in the world does a calendar connect to the fact that children are a blessing from Almighty God?” Hang with me a minute more, go with me into God’s Word, see the TRUTH of the Gospel.
The Apostle Peter was a brash man, a bold speaker, a man courageous in his actions, in his thoughts, in his preaching, and in his command over a situation. It was Peter who first spoke aloud to the LORD JESUS when asked, “Who do men say that I am?” It was also Peter who first spoke aloud the words, “I do not know the man,” (three times) when asked about Jesus after the crucifixion of Jesus upon the cross of Calvary (SEE—Matthew 26: 70, 72, & 74). Truly, Peter was a man who sometimes seemed to speak first and think secondly. Nevertheless, it was also the Apostle Peter who also preached first, a message of salvation, one that led over 3,000 men (women & children) to receive the salvation of God (SEE—Acts 2: 14-41).
There are many TRUTHS found within God’s Word, TRUTHS that sustain us throughout the days of our lives, and one such TRUTH—God Values ALL Human Life!
Go with me again to 1991, see a young girl, one who had reached the age of twenty-five, and one who knew in her heart that she was ready for SIX children (all boys) to be born. If you know me, then you can go ahead and smile because I have not received six boys as I had hoped to receive. In fact, I was gifted with one biological daughter, one who came years later in 1999, when I had all but given up hope of ever conceiving a child. Then, in 2021, God revealed to me that a baby born in 1998 (to other parents) was also a gift of God, one that He brought me to love in 2015.
God Controls The Days We Are Allotted To Live.
Children Are A Blessing From Almighty God.
God Values ALL Human Life.
Do not believe me but read with me God’s Word to see His Truth.
“But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like one day.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.“
(2 Peter 3: 8-9)

THANK YOU GOD—FOR SENDING YOUR SON—JESUS CHRIST—TO EARTH, TO BE BORN, TO WALK IN OBEDIENCE, TO DIE UPON THE CROSS OF CALVARY—TO RESURRECT TO NEW LIFE—FOR US, FOR OUR SALVATION!

THANK YOU GOD THAT YOUR HEAVENLY CALENDAR IS—NOT—AT ALL—LIKE OUR EARTHLY CALENDAR.
THANK YOU GOD!!!
Today, I end this writing with the TRUTH that God knows us, intimately, that God has known us from the very beginning of our substance. He knows us because it is God who formed us, who fashioned us, and who placed us inside our mother’s womb. IT IS GOD’S DOING!
THEREFORE, THIS TRUTH also means that God knows us so intimately, so precisely, that He knows the number of calendar days we have remaining.
Every day is precious to God. Every day has value.
TODAY HAS GREAT VALUE!
LET US NOT SQUANDER OUR TIME—EVER!!!
LET US—TODAY—THIS ONE DAY—BE ABOUT OUR FATHER’S WORK!
LET US—THIS DAY—WALK & SPEAK & DO—AS THE HOLY SPIRIT LEADS US!
LET US!!!
Truly, our time is precious, our days are numbered, our years are waxing away as we place the new calendars upon our office walls.
Truly, God teaches us the value of human life & the passage of time & the work He has given us to do.
Truly, we can plan & plan & plan as we pencil in our schedules onto our calendars; yet God knows our remaining days. MAY WE LIVE EACH DAY—AS HIS OBEDIENT CHILDREN!
In the 139th Psalm, one written by David, we see GOD’S TRUTH:
“For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.
I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Wonderful are Your works,
And my soul knows it very well.
My frame was not hidden from You,
When I was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book were all written
The days that were ordained for me,
When as yet there was not one of them.”
(Psalm 139: 13-16)
