WHAT IF….OUR FOCUS WERE UPON TRUTH THIS CHRISTMAS SEASON?!!!
This is Christmas season, and undoubtedly, many are looking at many things—for the perfect Christmas.
Looking online at all the possibilities, hopeful that the purchased gifts will arrive back in time to wrap and place under the Christmas tree.
Attending a long list of events, hopeful these activities will keep the Christmas blues at bay.
Searching for those perfect gifts for everyone on our lists, hopeful that those we love will be super happy when they unwrap our gifts.
Watching the new Coronavirus virus variant, hopeful the European borders will remain open to American travelers.
Truly, the Christmas season brings many HOPEFUL thoughts to your minds.
However, what if this Christmas season we focused on other, more godly thoughts (rather than gifts, shopping, travels, and parties)?
What if this Christmas season we focused on the 1st Coming of the Messiah & on the 2nd Coming of the Messiah?
And what if we searched, invited, witnessed, lived, traveled, and spent every Wakeful Moment focused on the True Meaning of Christmas—the gift of God—His Only Son Given to Each of Us!
What if we kept our eyes solely focused upon Jesus?!!!
WHAT IF?!!!
What if this Christmas season took on a whole, brand new start in the way we Approach & Appreciate & Worship during the Christmas Season?!!!
WHAT IF?!!!
What if we focused on what God’s Word led us to Cherish & Seek & Attend To & Follow & Focus Upon & Desire—Most?!
Please read with me a few Scripture passages that illuminated this truth to me on this first day of Advent.
“The people who walk in darkness
(Isaiah 9: 2)
Will see a great light;
Those who live in a dark land,
The light will shine on them.”
Those walking in darkness may come to know God if we keep our eyes upon Jesus this Christmas Season. It’s a Truth!
“But have nothing to do with worldly fables fit only for old women.
(1 Timothy 4: 7-10)
On the other hand, discipline yourself for the purpose of godliness; for bodily discipline is only of little profit, but godliness is profitable for all things, since it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.
It is a trustworthy statement deserving full acceptance.
For it is for this we labor and strive, because we have fixed our hope on the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of believers.”
Those who discipline and focus their minds, seeking God in all things, walking in His will for their days will labor for a most worthy cause, one we have fixed our hope on from the moment of our salvation. There are so many lost; we must be striving for the most profitable cause. It is a Truth!
“Instruct those who are rich in this present world not to be conceited or to fix their hope on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly supplies us with all things to enjoy.
(1 Timothy 6: 17-21)
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they make take hold of that which is life indeed.
O Timothy, guard what has been entrusted to you, avoiding worldly and empty chatter and the opposing arguments of what is falsely called ‘knowledge’—which some have professed and thus gone astray from the faith.”
God has placed certain individuals in our lives, certain ones He has entrusted to us. We must focus upon following the leading of the Holy Spirit for our days, hours, minutes, and seconds. We must be ON MISSION! It is a Truth!
Especially during this Christmas Season, the Advent Season. It is A Truth!
Jesus has come and Jesus will come again!!!
