Why We Don’t Do IT Afraid But In FAITH
Often I have heard it said, “Even when afraid, do IT anyway.” Now, so many have used these words throughout time that if we needed to create a bibliography, we would not know who deserves the credit.
Today, I wonder—Do we act; Do we step out; Do we move forward; Do we do whatever we are called to do, what we feel compelled to do—Even when we are trembling in our boots?
Even when afraid.
Do IT.
Anyway.
Now, let’s just pause right here and think of some things we may fear—DOING.
We may FEAR:
Changing Jobs.
Dating A New Person.
Facing A Health Issue.
The Dark.
Surgery.
Loss of Someone We Love.
Our Own Death.
Loneliness.
Separation From What We Know.
Standing And Delivering.
Making New Friendships.
Stepping Away From What We Find Comfortable.
Striving Toward A Newness In Our Lives.
The Truth About God.
The Truth About God.
The TRUTH About GOD!
Trusting with A Deep Faith In A God We Have Heard About But Do Not Yet Know As Personal Savior.
We may walk around throughout our days filled with so many fears, so much anxiety, and so much inner turmoil that we think—Surely others know how much I FEAR.
So, today, let us stop holding onto worldly sayings and let us begin trusting in the Word of God, for Jesus Christ is the only peace we will ever need.
In the Bible, when David had been seized by the Philistines, he wrote—
“You have taken account of my wanderings;
(Psalm 56: 8-13)
Put my tears in Your bottle.
Are they not in Your book?
Then my enemies will turn back in the day when I call;
This I know, that God is for me.
In God, whose word I praise,
In the LORD, whose word I praise,
In God I have put my trust, I shall not be afraid.
What can man do to me?
Your vows are binding upon me, O God;
I will render thank offerings to You.
For You have delivered my soul from death,
Indeed my feet from stumbling,
So I may walk before God
In the light of the living.
Steps of FAITH take Courage.
Steps of TRUST take Courage.
Steps of BOLDNESS take Courage.
Steps FORWARD Require that we place our Faith & our Trust in Almighty—&—Then Step Boldly Into A Place We Have Never Been Before—&—We Do Not Need To Fear Because Our God’s Got Our This!!!!!
In the Bible, Abram had just returned from a battle, defeated, and the kings who were his allies during the battle, met with him in the valley, and there on the plain, they ate bread and wine together. There, that day, they thanked and praised God. Then a little later (after the battles and after the thanksgiving), the LORD spoke to Abram in a vision, saying,
“Do not fear, Abram,
(Genesis 15: 1)
I am a shield to you;
Your reward shall be very great.”
We only need to read on to see the earthly, tangible way God blessed Abraham.
Then in the Bible, we see the Hall of Faith where the long list provides name after name after name of those who placed their Trust in God. Right before the great list, we see the WHY.
“Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward.
(Hebrews 10: 35-39)
For you need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised.
FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE,
HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY.
BUT MY RIGHTEOUS ONE SHALL LIVE BY FAITH;
AND IF HE SHRINKS BACK, MY SOUL HAS NO PLEASURE IN HIM.
But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.”
As we prepare to enter the Advent season and remember the birth of the Messiah, let us also look toward the second coming of the Messiah.
Let us watch & Let us be ready & Let us do God’s will—-Not Afraid, but let us remember in WHOM we TRUST, WHO is Our SHIELD, & WHO Will Come & Not Delay.
Let us not walk in Fear.
Let us walk, taking bold steps forward—In FAITH.
WHY?
BECAUSE OUR GOD HAS TAKEN HOLD OF US AT OUR SALVATION & GOD NEVER LETS GO OF THOSE WHO ARE HIS!
