Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

WHO IS THE LORD GOD?

WHO IS GOD?
WHO IS THE LORD?

Is Our GOD—
The Creator of Everything.
The Savior.
The Redeemer.
The Miracle Maker.
The Son of God.
The Way.
The Father.
The God of All
The Spirit, The Son, & The Father, three in One.
The God Who Moves Mountains.

Is Our GOD—
The God Who Answers Prayers.
The God Who We Trust.
The Provider.
The Sustainer.
The Great I Am.
The Righteous One.
The one Who Will Judge All.
Is God Able To Do All He Says He Can Do?
Do We Trust GOD?
Do We Trust God’s Timing For Our Lives?  For The Lives of Others?
Does God Got—Our This—Whatever Our This May Be Today?
Are we patient and persistent in lifting our prayers for others?  You know…..without ceasing.
No giving up.
No saying, “I’m so tired God and done with this but praying on and on and on and on—–TRUSTING GOD TOTALLY——Praying for His will to be done!

Miracles still happen every day.
God still moves at miraculous speed.
We are the ones still bound by time.

Thank you God that Your power is not determined by whether or not the answer to our prayers comes right now OR next year OR even ten years from now.
Sometimes, though, You give us instantaneous answers, like a split-second hand of protection OR like a prayer of calm permeating our being OR like a hedge and shield of faith as we stand and fight our giants.
Thank You God for Answered Prayer!

God’s Word provides time-after-time details of individuals who prayed, who acted in faith, who obeyed God, who trusted The Creator and Miracle-Maker.
Elijah is such a man.  He trusted God 100%.  He knew His God had his THIS, and his THIS was a challenge between the idol god Baal and Almighty God at Mount Carmel.
Elijah was there, and the prophet knew he must be patient as the people trusted their god Baal.
It was evening time.
The prophet called the people to come near him and see.
Elijah prepared the altar of the LORD.
Yes, the prophet took twelve stones (just as the 12 tribes of Israel), stacking them  into an altar in the name of the LORD.
It was a large altar.  That’s right.  He knew the people need to SEE the power of God.
He placed two measures of seed upon the altar (3 Gallons of Seed) &  Then he arranged the wood &  Next he cut the ox into pieces and he laid it ALL upon the altar.

Who is GOD?
Is our GOD the One Who Answers Prayers?
Do We Believe?
Do We Trust GOD?

Elijah, the prophet, then ordered the men to fill four pitchers full of water and pour it upon the seed, the wood, the ox, and the altar.  Wet it all.  Saturate it with water. (1 Kings 18: 30-34)
Then the prophet said,

“Do it a second time,” and they did it a second time.
And he said, “Do it a third time,” and they did it a third time.
The water flowed around the altar and he also filled the trench
[surrounding the altar] with water.”

(1 Kings 18: 34-35)

Is Our GOD Trustworthy?
Is Our GOD Faithful?
Is Our GOD the GOD of All?

Yes!
Yes He Is!!!!  & there are so many instances where God proves He Is Who He Says He Is!

Elijah stood there that day upon Mount Carmel.  Everyone had seen how the prophets of Baal had called on their god, over and over and over and over—-but the idol god did not send down a sound, an action, or an assurance—-Nothing to prove he was god.
Elijah was patient, waiting for them to finish, and then at evening time, he came near and called upon the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY.
AND GOD ANSWERED!

“O LORD, the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Israel [Jacob], today let it be known that You are God in Israel and that I am Your servant and I have done all these things at Your word.
Answer me, O LORD, answer me, that this people may know that You, O LORD, are God, and that You have turned their heart back again.”

(1 Kings 18: 36-37)

How Big Is Our GOD?
How Powerful Is Our GOD?

Do We Trust That He Will Remain Faithful To His Promises?
Elijah knew the BIGNESS & the POWER & the FAITHFULNESS of ALMIGHTY GOD.

“Then the fire of the LORD fell [from the sky] and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
When all the people saw it, they fell on their faces;  and they said, “The LORD, He is GOD;  the LORD, He is GOD.”

(1 Kings 18: 38-39)
