Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

ONE WAY—May We Show Them—THE WAY

The Mississippi River resides within the minds of most Americans as a great and mighty river.  In fact, many consider it the “Mighty Mississippi,” even more mighty than small rivers, streams, and creeks that carry water.  If we have ever passed overtop the great Mississippi river, then we will notice the magnitude of water flowing within its banks; in fact, the stream that begins as an 18-inch deep, 20-feet wide stream becomes an incomprehensible volume of water as it moves south where it reportedly dumps millions of gallons into the Gulf of Mexico every second (4.4 million gallons to be exact).

Starts So Small.
Flows Forward.
Moves Mightily.
Gains Ginormous Gallons.
One Bridge Built Where We Stand.

For so many reasons—Consider how the Mississippi River Creates the Image of Salvation & the Believer’s Part—Telling the Lost.

  • The Mighty Mississippi River & The gallons of water flowing beneath &
  • The Saved—Us—The Believers, standing on one side, seeing those who remain Lost.
  • But do we care?
  • The Lost desire to reach the other side, BUT
  • The Lost do not totally know if this is the right place to cross.
  • The Lost do not know The Way.
  • The Lost do not know JESUS.

Pour Into the One Who Still Remains Lost.

The River Rages Between the Two.
The One Side Needs A Bridge To Take, To Trust, To Walk Across As He (or She) Steps Forward In Faith.
The Son Provides The Only Way Across The Chasm (Lost & Found)—-Jesus Christ.

  • Do we know any lost souls?
  • Are we surrounding ourselves with only the saved? OR
  • Are we surrounding ourselves, walking among the Lost?
  • Are we desiring to follow God’s leading?
  • Are we seeking to follow God?
  • Are we digging into God’s Word Every Day—Reading, Studying, Meditating?
  • Are we giving legs, taking the Gospel?
  • Are we abounding in the love of Jesus, reaching toward the lost, showing them how they may be found?
  • Are we rooted in Christ?
  • Are we being built into a strong and mighty witness of God?
  • Are we trusting Godour firm foundation?

So many reside lost.
So many do not know the WAY.
So many cannot see the WAY across the chasm.
So many.

God’s Holy Spirit calls the lost one-by-one, and we are given the opportunity to walk through life among the lost, to speak of God’s goodness, to point them toward the WAY, to even lead them across, and to pray for and with them as they do—-cross the chasm from one side to the other—from being LOST to becoming FOUND.
Thank You God for the opportunity to share Jesus.
Thank you God—For Everything—You Provide—For the Direction You Will Give Us Today—For Others Who We Will Encounter—For the Opportunities To Witness You Orchestrated Even Before We Arose From Our Slumber.

Help Us Be Ready.
Help Us Be Bold.
Help Us Be Courageous.
Help Us Obey.
Help Us Remember Our Own Lostness & How Another, How Someone Who Was Found Revealed YOU To Us.
Help Us To Follow YOU.
Yes, Help Us Follow YOU As YOU Lead Us Throughout This Day.

Austin French sings the melody “Good Feeling,” and the lyrics say it all: “Gotta Tell Somebody.”

Do not believe me but believe God’s Word
God spoke to Moses, who spoke to the people (to Israel).

“It is the LORD your God who will cross ahead of you.  He will destroy these nations before you, and you shall dispossess them.
Joshua is the one who will cross ahead of you, just as the LORD has spoken. . . .
Be strong and courageous, do not be afraid or tremble at them, for the LORD your God is the One who goes with you.  He will not fail you or forsake you.”

(Deuteronomy 31: 3 & 6)

May we see one another. . .
May we see ALL the People We Will See This Day. . .
May we see them—Just as God sees them—Those Who Remain Lost & Those Who Have Been Found.
May We Witness, Sharing Our Jesus With The Lost.
May I Witness, May I Share My Savior Jesus—With The Lost Ones I Walk Beside Today.
