How Ten Years Flew By—Just Like That! & What The Moment Revealed
“Do you have an appointment?” she asked me.
“No. I don’t.”
“Did you already complete the pre-appointment questions?” she continued.
“No. I didn’t,” I replied to this lady who was new (to me) at the blood center.
“I am way past my 8-week time frame, and I’ve tried for weeks to get here,” I said as she led me to the small pre-appointment room—&—That is where the fun and laughter began.
I have discovered that every person we will ever encounter is an opportunity to reveal the love Christ. We should NEVER remain quiet when God’s Holy Spirit prompts our hearts to speak, and God provides us so many opportunities & ways to share Jesus. Even Laughter.
Do not believe these personal thoughts of mine but believe God’s Holy Word.
“He will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouting.”
(Job 8: 21)
And Again.
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future.”
(Proverbs 31:25)
Jesus spoke directly to Judas (not Judas Iscariot—not the one who was the instigator of events that led to Jesus’ arrest and death upon the cross but another Judas).
“Judas (not Iscariot) said to Him, “Lord, what then has happened that You are going to disclose Yourself to us and not to the world?”
(John 14: 23-26)
Jesus answered and said to him, “If anyone loves me, he will keep My Word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our abode with him.
He who does not love Me does not keep My words; and the Word which you hear is not Mine, but the Father’s who sent Me.
These things I have spoken to you while abiding with you.
But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all that I said to you. . . .”
We sat together on Friday inside that small room, going through all those necessary steps required before a drop of blood can ever be collected.

“Did you say your birthdate was August 20th, 1956?” she asked me.
“Yes, but the year was 66. My. Those ten years flew by—JUST LIKE THAT” I retorted while creating a snapping sound with my fingers.
What came next was the highlight of the day. Pure & Unexpected Laughter. We began laughing together, tickled at the simple joy found in that shared joke.
The attendant could not continue. She laughed, and I laughed. She looked at me, and then we laughed some more.
What are we laughing at today?
What are we striving with, wrestling with—which we should not because–-IT’S CLEARLY NOT WITHIN OUR CONTROL—BUT GOD’S TO CONTROL?
God has a plan for our lives. HIS plan for our lives & the path we must follow as we walk with Him.
How do we know God’s plan for our lives? That is the question most students ask me & my response to them follows. Today, I share this, my response, with you.
- Look at the various roles we have been given.
- Look to the various identities we take upon ourselves.
- Look to those precious individuals we have been given to love.
- Look to our identity in God we have been gifted to receive.
- Look to the Holy Spirit of God who God gave to us as our Helper, as the One who will be evermore our compass.
- Look to God to know our path.
- Look to Jesus to know how to speak to those we encounter upon our path.
- Look to God’s Holy Spirit to know how to speak & what to say & how to laugh & when to lighten their day AS we walk along beside them within the day we have been given during our path walk.
- Look. See. Watch. Love. Share. Listen. Speak. Laugh. Lead them to see Jesus.
I am a child of the most Holy Holy God!!!!
HIS!!!!
My identity remains in that fact alone.
All that I do—All that I say—All that I think—All of my reactions and actions—Rest within that single most, important identity.
My prayer today is that your response to these truths is the exact same. Let us be the sweet aroma of God as we walk through the breath of this one day.
God provides us so many “Hallelujah” moments to see and enjoy as we walk our life path He has directed us to walk.
Listen again to the words God gave Job to write—
“He will [God will] yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouting.”
(Job 8: 21)
