Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

May We Choose to Live This One Gift of A Day….As We Should

Life is such a gift.  Yes, for sure. The month of August unfolded and many precious people I know celebrated their individual birthdays, (and now September begins) and already many more beautiful ones I am blessed to know are celebrating their special gift of life. Twelve months. One Birth Month. One Physical Birth—Day. One Birth Moment—-of our physical life. Most assuredly, our individual gift of physical life (the life we have been gifted to live) remains ONE of the reasons we should lift our praise to God, but there is so much more to praise God for, than just this one physical life. YES, MOST ASSUREDLY…..THERE IS ALSO OUR SPIRITUAL LIFE!!!

LIFE.
At one time (fifty-five years and nine months ago for me), God formed me, and God placed me inside my mother’s womb. My life—God-Created and God-Given!!! Truly a physical life I must never take for granted.  And neither should you.  Yet sometimes I do (take my life for granted) and probably (you do too) not live each day, fully aware that TODAY—THIS ONE SINGLE DAY—could just be our last day, our final day on earth.

For example, Do You (like me)—Do We—

  • Drive hurriedly from place to place, as if arriving somewhere ten minutes quicker will really make that much difference?
  • Fill our days with our work, our careers, as if there is nothing more important we could be doing, like sharing time with someone we love?
  • Create a schedule, a calendar, so full that we feel accomplished ONLY as we quickly move from this to that, as if checking off our scheduled list is of most importance?
  • Rush to pray, rush to read God’s Word, rush to serve, and rush to squeeze in a “worship” service each week, as if one or two or even three rushed “worship” services will ever praise our God—enough?!!!

God gave each one of us the gift of life at the moment of our conception.  GOD DID!!!

Yes God numbered our allotted days of life, formed our physical body, and then placed His creation (us–you and me) into our mother’s womb, a cocoon of safe keeping, a place where we needed to be embedded, a place where we could grow into the body filled with all the necessary, useful working parts needed for a sustainable life outside our mother’s womb.

  • God knew what we needed to receive physical life
  • God always knows!
  • God forevermore knows best.
  • God leads us to go as we go throughout ALL the allotted days He has granted us to live.
  • Father God gave us life, and then He stands ready—with His outstretched hand, patiently waiting, continually speaking to our heart, giving us each a personal choice—a decision, to take hold of His outstretched hand.
  • Almighty God gave us a mind to become “SAVED,” to choose to become HIS CHILD, to say, “Yes, God, I want the gift of Your Grace, the gift of Your second birth, the gift of Your eternal salvation, the gift of YOU living inside my heart.”

Our Father in Heaven offers each one of us such an Amazing Gift of Salvation, one that these words (my human words) can NEVER even begin to appropriately describe.

A walk with God through life, saying “YES” to God’s Salvation, offered through the shed blood of His Son, Jesus Christ.

A journey with God through life, after we accept Jesus as Savior, after we immediately become filled with God’s Holy Spirit, Who comforts and sustains and leads us throughout the rest of our days of our physical, earthly life.

A journey with God through life, as God leads us through our earthly death and into eternity, where we will live forevermore in eternity with God—Our eternal life.

Life…….A most precious gift.
Eternal Life…….An Indescribable, Most Amazing Gift.
Do not believe me (ever) but believe in God and His Word given to us.

“The righteous man will flourish like the palm tree,
He will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
Planted in the house of the Lord,
They [the righteous] will flourish in the courts of our God.
They will still yield fruit in old age;
They shall be full of sap and very green,
To declare that the LORD is upright;
He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.”

(Psalm 92: 12-15)
  • Today, a beautiful gift of a new day, may we lift our hands and say, “Thank You God for this beautiful gift of physical life You have gifted us to live.”
  • Today, on this day, a brand-new day, may we kneel upon our knees, thanking God for His amazing gift of salvation, an amazing gift that secures our souls forevermore within God’s presence, an amazing gift that takes us into God’s eternal home as our physical life here on earth comes to an end.
  • Yes, today, on this One, Solitary Day God has gifted us to be alive, may we praise God today for Eternal Life secure, freely received when we choose to Accept, Believe, & Confess Jesus as Savior.
  • Today, on this single new day, may we allow ourselves to be totally and completely dependent upon God, our Father & May we sense His presence as we are securely held within His hand.
  • Today, may we never, ever desire to tug, to pull away from God, to want to walk through a single day on our own, to walk apart from His will for this one day He has gifted us to live.
  • Today, oh yes today, may we live ALIVE as if This Today could be our final allotted day of earthly life—-NOT living with reckless abandon, but living today, fully cognizant that today, This Day could be our final day on earth.

And So Today——

May We Choose to Live In Total Obedience to our Father God.
May We Go Wherever He May Lead Us to Go.
May We Do Whatever He Leads Us to Do.
May We Speak His Gospel—His Witness of Salvation—as His Holy Spirit Leads Us to Speak to Others as We Go Through Our One Day.
May We Love Others as Jesus Taught Us to Love.
And May We Remain EVER Thankful and in CONSTANT praise to God our Father for This One Single Day HE Has Gifted Us to Live.

May We Choose to Live This One Gift of A Day….As We Should
