Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

ONE LIFE…THAT’S RIGHT.

This morning brought me to a list of names and life details of thirteen soldiers and sailors killed this week during a bombing.

Names.

People.

Lives.

Souls.

People created by Almighty God.

I did not know the people personally, but as I read through the article, their names were given as part of the list, followed by how these ones served their country.   The article writer wrote about where these ones called home, where they hoped to come back to once their tour of duty was finished.
Within the article, comments from their family and friends were included, details of their lives, their loves, and their dreams.

13 US Troops Listed.
& also160 others also killed during this horrendous suicide bombing.
So Many Lives Lost.
Killed.
So Many Lives Taken.

As I read through the article, coming through the earbuds were the lyrics to the melody, “Spend A Life” by David Dunn has these words as part of the chorus:
“Show me.
Show me.
Show me.
Show me.
Show me how to spend a life.”

A Life.
What is a life—-worth?
Do we really even truly know—-the value of one life?
Of one single person?
Of one single soul?
God Does!
God knows the value of one life.

A Single Being.
Dust and God’s Breath of Life.

A Person.
One Individual.
One.
Just one.  Yes.
Just one life.

God sent His only Son to Redeem all lives; if only 1 LIFE needed redemption, God’s Grace for Eternal Life Would Not Have Changed. One Life. Yours. Mine. JUST ONE. THAT’S RIGHT!!!

Why is that we go on and on and on about what we hope to “do” with our one life, but in all our striving to figure out what we are going to “do” with this one life, we forget the value of the one life?
Why is it that we focus more on what we do with our lives than who we ARE in this, our one life?
Could be in danger of losing our one life?

YES. THAT’S RIGHT.
What we “DO” with our lives we have been gifted to live (a gift from God) cannot ever supersede WHO WE ARE in this one life God has given us to live.
YES.  THAT’S RIGHT.
In his letter to those living in Thessalonica, the Apostle Paul was given these words from God to give to the people living there.  WHO they are (according to God), Paul wrote supersedes who they are (according to man).
YES. THAT IS RIGHT.

God created each person, each single one individual.
God wrote down the number of our days allotted, and then God placed each one of us inside our mother’s womb.  Then we were born to live out this one life God has gifted us to live.
The Bible records—

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.”

(1 Thessalonians 5: 23-24)

THE GOD of PEACE.
WHO SANCTIFIES ENTIRELY.
SPIRIT, SOUL, & BODY—COMPLETELY.
PRESERVED 100%.
WITHOUT BLAME WHEN JESUS RETURNS TO EARTH.
JESUS, ALWAYS FAITHFUL.
JESUS, WHO CALLS US TO SALVATION.
FATHER GOD–JESUS THE SON–GOD’S HOLY SPIRIT–3 in 1.
HE WILL BRING IT TO PASS, ALL PROMISES RECORDED WITHIN HIS WORD.

The psalmist in the Bible wrote—“For all our days have declined in Your fury; we have finished our years like a sigh.
As for the days of our life, they
[may] contain seventy years, or if due to strength, [maybe] eighty years.
Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; for soon it
[LIFE] is gone and we fly away.”(Psalm 90: 9-10)
WHAT WE DO WITH OUR LIVES CANNOT…..Be focused in just striving to figure out what we are going to “do” with this one life, causing us to forget the value of our one life?
That is why we must focus more on what we do with our lives than who we ARE in this one life?

THAT’S RIGHT.

“So teach us [GOD] to number our days [as You have already done before our life even began],
That we may present to You a heart of wisdom.”
(Psalm 90:12)
And the fear [& awe & respect] of the LORD is the beginning of WISDOM—(Proverbs 9:10).

One Life.
That’s Right.
One Day.  Today.
THAT’S RIGHT!

We spend a life as we live one day at a time.

Let us live our one TODAY with no regrets, living our one LIFE—-living for God.
