Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

What Are We Counting?

  • One.
  • Two.
  • Three.
  • Four.
  • Five.
  • Six.
  • Seven.
  • Eight.
  • Nine.
  • Ten.

Could we do it?
Could we name ten blessings?
Could we name ten people, objects, situations, and outcomes that are a blessing to our lives….today…..right now?

I believe we could.

I believe if we are alive, breathing,—-BLESSED.
Are we God’s child?—-BLESSED.
What about a home to live within and people who call us family?—-BLESSED.
If we have a job, one that places money with our bank account to help pay our bills?—–BLESSED.
Do we share an intimate relationship, walking with God’s Holy Spirit?—-BLESSED.
Would we count our health as a gain?—-BLESSED.
Then there’s our friendships.  Are we?—-BLESSED.
Do we have a place we attend for worship, those who hold us accountable, those we share life with as we serve in our communities?—-BLESSED.
Consider those we call “ours,” as “our spouse,” & “our siblings,” & “our parents,”—–BLESSED.
Education.  Have we learned the skills necessary to work in our career, one that sustains us and challenges our mind?—-BLESSED.
Are we sharing life with a church family and a pastor who we can call on in times of joy or distress?—-BLESSED.
Do we own our own copy of God’s Word, one we can openly study, one we can carry with us in public, and one we can read as we feast upon His Scripture?—- BLESSED.
Can we openly meet with others in worship to God? ?—BLESSED.

Can we bow our head to pray in thanksgiving?—BLESSED.

ON & ON & ON & ON.

The Bible is clear where our blessings come from, and to whom we should offer praise for every gift.

“Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow” (James 1: 17).

It is a truth.  We either focus our minds upon our blessings or we focus our minds upon our troubles.
Unless we are intentionally seeking God, mindfully cognizant of our blessings God provides, then we will allow a space to exist, one where the devil will slip into our thoughts and steal our joy.  That’s what he desires—-THEFT of ALL GOD’S GOODNESS.

  • Let us not take our blessings for granted.
  • Let us not allow Satan to steal any of our joy today.
  • Let us not give him (the devil) a moment of fun at our expense.
  • Let us count our blessings.
  • Let us focus our minds, our beings, our hearts upon “the Father of lights.”
  • Let us say, “Thank You God for ‘every good thing given and every perfect gift.'”
  • Let us say, “Thank You God for loving ALL of your creatures—ALL PEOPLE—EQUALLY.
  • Let us thank and praise Jehovah God—-This Beautiful Morning.
  • Yes…..Let Us!!!
