Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

WHERE Should We Look To Find Unspeakable JOY?

Would we recognize JOY when we saw it occur in another’s life?
Would we call it by name?
Would we hope that it (JOY) stayed for the week, for the month whenever it stopped by to visit?
Would we create a bedroom for JOY, expectantly hopeful it may very well move permanently into our homes and into our lives to stay?

JOY.

As a child, we sang a hymn that went like this.
“There’s joy, joy, joy….down in my heart.
Where?
down in my heart;
Where?
down in my heart;
Where?
down in my heart; down in my heart……TO STAY!!!

As we remember the words to the children’s melody, it creates a question—Do We?
Do we have JOY in our hearts?
Do we have unspeakable JOY within our hearts (way down deep) inside our hearts?
AND
If we do (have this unspeakable JOY residing in us…..deep within us)…..then from Whom did this JOY originate (for us to receive and to keep)?
Last night, my husband and I visited the building site where my sister and her husband are building a new home.    My best friend and her husband (who is also a builder) and their precious daughter visited too.
So the seven of us walked through the studded rooms, seeing within our minds the future, yes the finished home that the building will eventually become.
During our time together (at the building site) and during one specific conversation with my brother-in-law, he spoke of the builder, a young man who has become something new, and who is NOW filled with “JOY unspeakable.”

Let me explain.
This young carpenter spoke of how he was a JESUS Man now, how he used to be a sinner, and how (when he was a sinner) he was a sinner every day! This young carpenter went on to tell my brother-in-law how being a JESUS Man was SO MUCH BETTER!!!
As I stood there listening, I thought about those words—-a JESUS Man & a JESUS Woman.
And I wondered, just how many are living, sold out, fully committed, 100% JESUS MEN & WOMEN?
And I wondered, if not, then why not?

The Bible records a most glorious change that occurs when a person (who once lived for himself, selfishly focused upon his own pleasures) CHANGES into a new creature in Christ Jesus when the person accepts Christ  Jesus as LORD.   At this moment of salvation, the person now lives for God and now desires to do God’s will more than his own selfish will.
The apostle Peter was a rash man, one given to quick action before his salvation and even somewhat after his discipleship; yet, as Peter grew up in his faith, as Peter walked daily with Jesus, Peter discovered a deeper, more resolute, and more precious gift that resided within him than he first imagined.

“In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,  so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;  and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, obtaining as the outcome of your faith the salvation of your souls.”
“In this you greatly rejoice,…(6).

(1 Peter 1: 6-9)

What is the “THIS” Peter speaks of in the Scripture?
It just happens to be the same THIS that the builder of the new house testified of, and what my brother-in-law spoke of last night.
It is the same THIS so many claim.
It is also the same THIS that sustains me too.

“Blessed be the  God and Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are protected by the power of God through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”

(1 Peter 1: 3-5)

In THIS……we have Unspeakable JOY, YES, Inexpressible JOY that is 100% full of glory!!!!
In THIS……we have a Living Hope and obtain an inheritance, one that never perishes and one that will never change, and one that will never disappear or fade away.
In THIS……we have a Hope stored and reserved in heaven and protected by Almighty God, one that He will reveal.
In THIS……we are able to Endure all life-struggles and stress.
In THIS……we can share with others the Evidence, the Proof of our Faith.
In THIS……we can Rejoice in Him, even though we cannot see Him with our earthly eyes, but with Faith, our Faith is Sealed for us through God’s Holy Spirit.
In THIS……we have Unspeakable JOY, Yes JOY that is so wonderful that we can hardly express THIS AMAZING JOY we enjoy deep within our heart.
In THIS……we obtain the Salvation of our souls.
IN THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!

JOY is a gift from God & as a gift, JOY can only be received when it is accepted.
JOY is a calmness that sustains us, despite our daily stressors that continually trip us.
JOY remains ours forevermore, once we belong to God.
JOY becomes more beautiful as we grow up in all parts of our lives as we spiritually grow up into God, who builds us up in HIS love so we can walk throughout our lives, doing all things in Jesus’ love.
JOY is unspeakable….way down in our hearts,  &
JOY is inexpressible and the outcome of the salvation of our souls.
JOY allows us to walk throughout our days (as this builder/carpenter of my sister’s new home)…..
JESUS MEN  &  JESUS WOMEN.

“Amen” by Micah Taylor speaks through song of “THIS” UNSPEAKABLE & “THIS” INEXPRESSIBLE JOY Believers rejoice in throughout life. Listen today & Enjoy, if your day allows you time to do so.
