Deliverance of me, from me to HIM
“How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound!
(The Psalms 89: 15-17 NASB)
O LORD, they walk in the light of Your countenance.
In Your name they rejoice all the day,
And by Your righteousness they are exalted.
For You are the glory of their strength,
And by Your favor our horn is exalted.”
If you have ever paused to look back over your life, then possibly, you have asked yourself the question: What does deliverance look like? It has been said that in hindsight, we see the life-situations the LORD has walked us through, from one side to the other. We can pause right here to look back, to see the spaces where Jesus stepped in and directed our steps.
Pause again, right here, going back to see the words within the passage (I have taken the liberty to) highlight with boldness.
Blessed are those ones who know the truth of God, who enjoy His mercy and His presence. Daily, Christ-followers can walk in His presence, in His face. As God’s children, it is our duty to recognize His presence in our lives and how this means we give ALL parts of our being to the LORD. We must give ourselves to the LORD first, each day, and then we find strength in His divine power. It is only after we give ourselves to HIM that we are ready to give ourselves to others, and we can receive the blessings of God.
- His Glory.
- His Strength.
- His Favor.
ALL parts belong to Him.
Jesus wants ALL of us, not just part.
He seeks to be LORD of us.
Do we find ourselves saying, “You may have this and this (of me) but not here and here, LORD. This secret place and that secret place belongs to me.” Our money. Our time. Our tithe. Our offering. Our family. Our marriage. Our friendships. Our work. Our inner spaces. What parts do we hold back? We cannot be in full control of us, of the way we live, of the things we do, of the thoughts we harbor, of the steps we take—and say, WE ARE FULLY ALLOWING THE LORD TO CONTROL ALL OF US.
As we give more of ourselves to the LORD, we find more of HIS protection, HIS guidance, and HIS peace. HE affects our obedience and our daily strength. This means the LORD will control how we live, even disrupting the way we walk through our day(s).
JESUS MAKES US INTO THE PERSON WE NEED TO BECOME, AS WE GIVE OURSELVES TO HIM.
