Make Every Effort in All: You Do, You Are & You Trust
How do you get to know someone? & How can you know for sure that someone has your best interests? Would you believe me if I told you that the “someone” you need knew you before you knew Him? & Would you believe the truth that this “someone” eternally wants only the best for you?
Believe it, for it’s the absolute truth.
However, believe it only as truth because the Bible proclaims it so. Please pause to read the words of Jesus Christ the Savior. When Jesus walked on earth and comforted His disciples, the Spirit of God had not yet come to those who believed, and Jesus knew His chosen ones were afraid of being left all alone in this sordid world, in the place where Satan and his demons roam. Therefore, Jesus said:
“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever;
(The Gospel According to John 14: 16-17 NASB)
that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him,
but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”
- Forever is a timeframe we struggle to comprehend; nevertheless, the Lord Jesus Christ promises those who believe how the “Helper, that He may be with you forever; . . .”
- Unbelief remains incomprehensible to those who believe; nonetheless, the Son of God proclaims what believers must remember in regard to God’s Holy Spirit living inside us. “the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, . . .”
- Assurances are difficult to believe in this modern-day world; however, if you have believed in and received the salvation of God, then “you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”
So, how long is forever & how are we to walk as we are in this world? Well, it’s only through our Hope, our Promise, and our Resurrection that we are able to walk with the Lord. Truly, it is only through the guidance and leadership of the Spirit of Truth—alive in those who believe on Him, the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, . . .”
(The 2nd Letter of Peter 1: 5a NASB)
- It is only through the power of HIS presence!
- It is only through the promptings HE places in us!
- It is only through the TRUTH HE will always remain in us!
We have received the Lord’s promise of HIS counsel, HIS comfort, and HIS complete filling—FOREVERMORE!
Therefore, “apply all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence”: Knowledge. Self-Control. Perseverance. Godliness. Brotherly Kindness. & Love.
Do not doubt HIS presence in you but make every effort to add to your faith moral excellence—HIS GOODNESS—every single day you are afforded to live on this side of earth’s soil.
