The Word of God is Established—Forever in Heaven
- For a few days, our daughter and her family traveled north to Maine, and while there they hiked, ate good food, and experienced life together as a family of three. Then they traveled home.
- During the past five days, we traveled north to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and while there we walked, ate good food, and shared life together, just the two of us. As we journeyed, I marked our path traveled with a yellow highlighter, marking our Atlas. Then last night, we arrived home.
Today, the day after the journey’s end, the Lord allows each of us who believe in His Son—blessings of redemption. Yes, sit right here and dwell, as we stroll through our minds to see with clarity the multitude of blessings we have received in Christ.
We have received—
- The privileged position in Jesus Christ.
- The reconciliation with God through redemption by His grace.
- The transfer from darkness to His kingdom.
- The amazing work of God’s Holy Spirit.
- The honor of acceptance into the Body of Christ.
- The truth of God’s precious promises.
- The immediate transformation because of Jesus’ death, burial, & resurrection.
- The everlasting life in HIM.
Can you see the blessings of redemption we who believe have received?
Can you feel the immense joy that comes with our position with which we have been gifted?
There is a meditation, a prayer, and a song that we ought to continually sing to the Lord.
Will you sing with me today—a song of remembrance?
“Forever, O LORD,
(The Psalms 119: 89-96 NASB)
Your word is settled in heaven.
Your faithfulness continues throughout all generations;
You established the earth, and it stands.
They stand this day according to Your ordinances,
For all things are Your servants.
If Your law had not been my delight,
Then I would have perished in my affliction.
I will never forget Your precepts,
For by them You have revived me.
I am Yours, save me;
For I have sought Your precepts.
The wicked wait for me to destroy me;
I shall diligently consider Your testimonies.
I have seen a limit to all perfection;
Your commandment is exceedingly broad.”
As the journey continued, it was easy to survey the world, to see the scene before us, and with the Bible in our hands, we are able to not worship the natural but the LORD’S creation. We do not serve a God who is absent from our day-to-day, but we worship a Lord who stands ready to speak to the Father on our behalf.
We saw the coarseness of the world before us, we see the news’ reports, the printed words across the newspapers, and we do not give pause to fear, for we know the LORD is at work, and we know there are consequences for unbelief, for sin, and for rebellion against a Holy God.
We are comforted by the promise of our LORD. HE will speak the final word.
We are not frightened by Satan’s work across the land, but we are on our knees praying for strength to stand and daily fight against his fiery darts. We pray, lifting up those who walk daily in disbelief, asking God’s Holy Spirit to bring conviction to their hearts. We know how Satan will be defeated in the end, for we have read the final chapters, the final verses, the last pages of God’s Holy Word.
God’s Holy Plan will be fulfilled. It is a promise and an assurance we stand upon each day we traverse through this our earthly life. No matter what, do not lose heart, for the Christian knows how all of this will end.
- If Jesus comes for us before that great day, then we will reside in paradise with Him.
- If Jesus allows us to tarry until He comes, then we will reside in paradise with Him.
In the end, we will journey no longer because we will go home.
No matter what—The Word of God is Established—Forever in Heaven.

Your word is settled in heaven.

You established the earth, and it stands.
