Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Lost—or—Found;  Cursed—or—Blessed

Even when we are faithless, GOD IS FAITHFUL!

Even when we are weak, HE REMAINS STRONG!

GOD IS UNCHANGING!

  • Have we ever wondered what makes a Christian, a Believer, a Child of God—distinct in this world?
  • Have we ever questioned what specific difference stands between the one who is BLESSED and the one who is CURSED?

We only need to open our Bible to see the Truth of God, to see the distinct difference, to answer the all-important question—

What makes Christianity distinct?

“Thus says the LORD,”  (The Book of Jeremiah 17: 5a)

Doesn’t this say it all?!!!

Whatever GOD says, Whatever the LORD speaks & Whatever the FATHER proclaims—is the Gospel Truth.  May we see what HE says about being Lost—or—Cursed.

“Thus says the LORD,
Cursed is the man who trusts in mankind
And makes flesh his strength,
And whose heart turns away from the LORD.
For he will be like a bush in the desert
And will not see when prosperity comes,
But will live in stony wastes in the wilderness,
A land of salt without inhabitant.”

(The Book of Jeremiah 17: 5-6)

These are the characteristics of a person who does not know Jesus as his Savior & Lord.

  • Problems come, and he turns to others, to mankind to direct his steps.
  • Life becomes difficult, and he believes he has enough strength to see himself through the situation.
  • Man sees with physical eyes, but his spiritual eyes cannot nor does not want to see the LORD.
  • The Bible is clear about where the person will spend his eternity, the one who does not know Jesus as his Savior.
  • Mankind walks by faith, trusting fully in the LORD to see him through every situation.

It’s as clear as black and white.

“Then I saw another beast coming up out of the earth;
and he had two horns like a lamb and he spoke as a dragon.
He exercises all the authority of the first beast in his presence.
And he makes the earth and those who dwell in it to worship the first beast,
whose fatal wound was healed.
. . .
And he causes all,
the small and the great,
and the rich and the poor,
and the free men and the slaves,
to be given a mark on their right hand or on their forehead,
and he provides that no one will be able to buy or to sell,
except the one who has the mark,
either the name of the beast or the number of his name.”

(The Revelation to John 13: 11-12 & 16-17 NASB)

May we see what the Bible speaks about the difference between being:

Lost—or—Cursed.

HOWEVER, These are the characteristics of a person who does know God, the one who has confessed his sin and given his heart to the Savior, who is led by the Holy Spirit of the Lord Jesus Christ.

  • Problems come, and he turns to God, to His Holy Spirit to direct his steps.
  • Life becomes difficult, and the person remembers he does not have enough strength to get him through the situation, but man remembers that he must rely upon God’s strength.
  • Mankind sees with physical eyes the needs of others, & with his spiritual eyes, he walks by faith, trusting fully in the LORD to help him through every situation.
  • The Bible is clear: The person who knows Jesus as his Savior will spend his eternity in heaven.

It’s as clear as black and white and the red words of Jesus.

Behold, I stand at the door and knock;

if anyone hears My voice and opens the door,

I will come in to him

and will dine with him,

and he with Me.

He who overcomes,

I will grant to him to sit down with Me on My throne,

as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.“

(The Revelation to John 3: 20-21 NASB)

So, WHO are we pursuing?

WHO are we leaning in toward, standing up for, writing and speaking about each day?

  • WHO wakes us up in the morning, commanding our attention?
  • WHO excites us, making us want to go out into this world?
  • WHO commands our attention, causing us to strive toward being our best?

It is a fact—

  • We will pursue that which we deem most important.  &
  • We will pursue the choices that are important to us.  &
  • We will pursue what our heart says is important to us.

May we see what the Bible speaks about the difference between being:

Found  &  Blessed.

“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD
And whose trust is the LORD.
For he will be like a tree planted by the water,
That extends its roots by a stream
And will not fear when the heat comes;
But its leaves will be green,
And it will not be anxious in a year of drought
Nor cease to yield fruit.”

  (The Book of Jeremiah 17: 7-8)

So, if we have ever wondered what makes a Christian, a Believer, a Child of God—distinct in this world?

And if we have ever questioned what specific difference stands between the one who is BLESSED and the one who is CURSED?

“and nothing unclean,
and no one who practices abomination and lying,
shall ever come into it,
but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

. . .
There will no longer be any curse;
and the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it,
and His bond-servants will serve Him;
they will see His face,
and His name will be on their foreheads.”

  (The Revelation to John 21: 27 & 22: 3-4 NASB)

We open our Bible, & see the Truth of God!

We read God’s answer—What makes Christianity distinct!

The found & the blessed wear His name!

  • GOD IS FAITHFUL & STRONG for all our difficulties found in this life!
  • May we allow others to see Jesus in us today.

GOD IS UNCHANGING & JESUS IS COMING AGAIN!
