What We Receive & What We Escape
We do not deserve to receive the crumbs underneath the table,
And yet,
The Lord Jesus Christ invites those who believe to sit with Him at the table.
This is GRACE!
We do not deserve to escape the inner turmoil our sins produce within our being,
And yet,
The Lord Jesus Christ offers the incomprehensible inner tranquility found in His presence.
This is PEACE!
GRACE & PEACE only come from the heavenly Father.
&
God has given to each one who chooses to believe in His Son Jesus, His gift of salvation.
This is FAITH!
“To those who have received a faith of the same kind as ours,
(The 2nd Letter of Peter 1: 1b NASB)
by the righteousness of our God and Savior, Jesus Christ:”
Accept—God sent His only Son Jesus to die on the cross, to pay the debt of our sin.
Believe—Jesus Christ arose from the tomb, overcoming death once and for all.
Confess—Jesus as Lord & the sin separating & holding us captive in our unbelief.
& then
Receive Eternal Life found only through the salvation Jesus offers.
& forever
Escape Eternal Separation unbelief brings.
- Choose today to turn to Jesus.
- Choose today to receive His offer of salvation.
- Choose today to be invited into the eternal presence of the Lord Jesus Christ.
“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord;
(The 2nd Letter of Peter 1: 2-3 NASB)
seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence.
For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises,
so that by them you may become partakers of divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.”
- We are positioned in Christ.
- Jesus gave His life for us.
Christ gives those who believe in Him eternal life, and the world asks: WHY?
It is only because we trust Him (Jesus Christ) as our Savior.
- We are given everlasting peace in Christ.
- Christ gave us His perfect peace.
- He multiples it in our hearts and magnifies it in our lives.
So we must then ask: WHAT NOW, LORD?
- Apply diligence to walk in moral excellence.
- Study to know the Scriptures.
- Be Self-Controlled in thoughts and actions.
- Persevere in God’s calling.
- Act in godliness.
- Be kind to others.
- Love like Jesus.
The Lord Jesus Christ has made it possible for believers to walk within the guidance of His Holy Spirit, pursuing the sanctification (the spiritual maturity) the Father expects of us. We are to walk, with our eyes placed on this world to be His hands and feet & with our eyes looking for the return of our Savior Jesus Christ.
“Therefore, brethren,
(The 2nd Letter of Peter 1: 10-11 NASB)
be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you;
for as long as you practice these things,
you will never stumble;
for in this way the entrance into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ
will be abundantly supplied to you.”
