Seeing ALL of Me & Seeing ALL of You
David wrote with preciseness, leaving nothing up to debate.
The LORD provided His servant & His shepherd & His king David with exactness, leaving nothing to personal interpretation.
To be ‘HAPPY’ in the LORD, one must ‘OBEY’ the LORD’S commands. Period!
To be honest, I wake up ‘happy’ most days, for I am a Christian, a wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister & sister-in-law, a teacher, a former coach, an advisor, a mentor, and a friend. Truly, I have MUCH to be ‘happy’ about in my life. The LORD has provided so many opportunities for my life to connect with the lives of others, and these interactions bring me such joy. However, in studying The Ten Commandments given to the Israelites when Moses climbed to the top of Mount Sinai, I find myself standing in front of a mirror, GOD’S MIRROR.
Truthfully, I do not always like what I see.
Let me explain this another way. Last week I attended a birthday party for two small children, and while enjoying the festive atmosphere, I was introduced to the concept of a black light. I am not a crime scene investigator, so really, I had never before encountered this device. When asked if I knew how it worked, I responded that I did not, and then the owner of the home took me inside a small bathroom, turned off the lights, and turned on the black light. As he pointed the light at the doorframe, the sink, the toilet, and the floor, I could see EVERYTHING.
Laughingly, he said, “I won’t shine the black light on us, for if I do, then we would see MORE about ourselves than we really want to expose.
I was thankful we clicked on the overhead lights and clicked off the black light.
Everything we do is on display to the LORD & Everything we choose NOT to do is on display. Let this statement sink in for a few moments.
Take a simple test.
Reflect back on the last thirty minutes of your life, yes today. Ask yourself one single question:
How did I spend the time the LORD has provided for me?
The way we spend our time (our seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, & years) is so important to the LORD, who is the CREATOR of our bodies (body, soul, & mind).
- How am I spending the time the LORD has provided for me?
- How will I spend the time the LORD has provided for me today?
- How will I spend the next thirty minutes, if the LORD allows for them?
The LORD GOD, our CREATOR is constantly Seeing ALL of Me & Seeing ALL of You!
- Are we spending our time wisely?
- Are we squandering our time we are given?
- Are we living well, engaging in the LORD’S good work, leaning into the relationships HE provides, and serving those HE places into our path?
- Are we wasting our time?
- Are we trapped in the evilness of our sin?
- Are we living ‘intentional’ and ‘walking with the LORD’ each day?
To be ‘HAPPY’ in the LORD, one must ‘OBEY’ the LORD’S commands. Period!
- Let us begin anew to cling to the eternal HOPE in Christ.
- Let us obey and submit to earthly authority the LORD has allowed, for it is the LORD we serve.
In the letter to the believers living in Ephesus, the Holy Spirit led the apostle Paul to write—
Since the LORD sees ALL things!
- The LORD sees ALL of Me & ALL of You!
- The LORD sees EVERYTHING we do & EVERYTHING we choose to not do!
Lasting happiness is found in obedience, for we are most holy before HOLY GOD when we are ‘without fail’ following the LORD in strict obedience. This is when the children of God are most happy.
Help us see ALL of ourselves as the LORD sees ALL of us.
If we love God & His Son—we cannot help but be obedient to HIM.
- May we be so in love with JESUS that we long to choose HIM in every life situation.
- May we be people who OBEY GOD’S PERFECT WILL as we live for eternal heaven & as we lead others to Christ Jesus.
Right now, for the next thirty minutes just might be the best time to bow down on our knees and seek the LORD’S forgiveness for what HE reveals.
- Let us keep ALL of HIS Commandments.
- Let us sing praises to HOLY GOD.
- Let us be happy in the LORD.
- Let us shout for JOY!
