Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

What to do—in the meantime—in the Wait

“But know this first of all,
 that no prophecy of Scripture is a matter of one’s own interpretation,
for no prophecy was ever made by an act of human will,
but men moved by the Holy Spirit spoke from God.”

(The Second Letter of Peter 1: 20-21 NASB)

He was there, Peter was there—with Jesus as He walked upon earth, the Son of man.

Peter, the man first called Simon and later renamed by Jesus was there—with Jesus on the Holy Mountain, the day Jesus, the Son of God, was transfigured by God the Father.

Peter was there; he was an eyewitness.  Peter, along with the other disciples walked the dusty roads surrounding Galilee and Jerusalem with Jesus Christ, the Messiah.  Peter was an eyewitness, along with James, John, Matthew, Luke, Paul, Mary, Martha, the Samaritan woman at the well, and the women at the tomb when Jesus arose from the grave.

THEY WERE ALL THERE—EYEWITNESSES TO THE TRUTH OF THE SCRIPTURE!

  • JESUS CHRIST, THE MESSIAH!
  • JESUS CHRIST, THE SAVIOR!
  • JESUS CHRIST, THE PROPHET!
  • JESUS CHRIST, THE REDEEMER!
  • JESUS CHRIST, THE SON OF ALMIGHTY GOD!

The Bible speaks the truth, telling us that one day we will go home to heaven where we will be in the presence of God forever.

  • As a believer, I am not a child of this world but a child of God.
  • As a Christian, you are not a child of the dark but a child of the light, of Holy God.

We are told that there will be no need for the sun to rise each morning, nor will there be a need for the gates of the Holy City to close, for daytime will only exist, never the darkness of night.

“There will no longer be any curse;
and the throne of God and the Lamb will be in it,
and His bond-servants will serve Him;
they will see His face,
and His name will be on their foreheads.
And there will no longer be any night;
and they will not have need of the light of a lamp nor the light of the sun,
because the Lord God will illumine them;
and they will reign forever and ever.
And he said to me,
“These words are faithful and true”;
and the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets,
sent His angel to show to His bond-servants the things which must soon take place.

“And behold, I am coming quickly.
Blessed is he who heeds the words of the prophecy of this book.”

. . .
And he said to me,
“Do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book,
for the time is near.”

(The Revelation to John 22: 3-7 & 10 NASB)

Discipleship is costly; one must stand for what he believes, for what he knows to be the truth.  Even when others turn away and do not believe, still the Christian must stand strong.  Although the world scoffs at the name of Jesus, the Believer knows the TRUTH—

JESUS IS EVERYTHING!

So the questions become:  What must we do—in the meantime—in the Wait? & What must we do—in the meantime—in the waiting for Jesus to appear in the clouds? & What must we do—in the meantime—in the waiting for our Savior to bring us home to heaven?

WE MUST BE ABOUT OUR FATHER’S BUSINESS!

  • We must testify & witness of all HE has done.
  • We must proclaim the Good News of Christ Jesus.
  • We must tell others of the prophecy we know to be GOD’S TRUTH!
  • We must scatter the seed of the Gospel message.
  • We must speak and not be silent.
  • We must live in a way so that others see JESUS in us.
  • We who are eyewitnesses of the goodness of God’s Amazing Grace—
  • We must keep one eye on those who surround us, even while we keep one eye on the clouds above—watching and waiting for JESUS’ RETURN!

For it is 100% Truth—JESUS WILL COME AGAIN SOMEDAY SOON, MAYBE EVEN TODAY!

SO, WE, WHO ARE THE CHILDREN OF GOD—MUST BE ABOUT OUR FATHER’S BUSINESS!

This is What We Are to Do—in the meantime—in the Wait.
