Do Others See JESUS in Us?
Today, some questions come to me—
- Are we a channel of God’s peace as we walk into the world?
- Are we a product of God’s love where only hatred exists?
- Are we speaking of the Great Physician where only pain exists?
- Can others see Jesus in us?
- Can others hear us speak of our faith in Jesus when they only doubt?
Often, we must walk through difficult seasons of life—seasons when we must lose precious loved ones OR seasons when we must lose our love with the world OR seasons when we must walk away from that which we think we cannot live without here on earth. It is within these seasons of loss; the LORD reminds us of His Truth—
GOD IS ENOUGH!
GOD IS ALL WE WILL EVER NEED!
In the Old Testament, in the book of Exodus, we read how GOD used Moses to bring HIS children from Egypt, out of their 430-year bondage. GOD led His servant Moses to the top of Mount Sinai, where the LORD gave Moses specific instructions to speak to the people. All of this was to consecrate them, GOD’S chosen people.
In reading this account, we are reminded how Moses was required to GO UP to be with the LORD, before Moses was led back down to instruct the people. Moses needed to RISE UP to meet GOD, before Moses was asked to go down to the people. As we ponder the depth of what the LORD calls us to & what the LORD then sends us to do, we are to see the significance of the WHY.
- Why would Moses be called up to the mountain?
- Why would Moses be called to go down to the people?
- Why would Moses be given the LORD’S instructions?
- Why would Moses be given the LORD’S direction?
It was all because of WHAT MOSES HAD RECEIVED FROM ALMIGHTY GOD—“But He gives a greater grace.”
- God is our King!
- God is well-aware how we are broken people.
- God knows we need to walk in wakefulness and not as if sleepwalking.
- God knows we need Him daily; so He sent us the Comforter; so He placed within us His Holy Spirit to guide our steps.
Our relationship with God is the MOST IMPORTANT relationship in our lives! The Bible is clear—“He jealously desires the Spirit which He has made to dwell in us”
Today, I end with some questions for us, the Redeemed children of GOD—
- Are we telling the world from where we receive our HOPE?
- Are we walking daily, shining HIS LIGHT into this world full of darkness?
- Are we countering the sadness with the Truth found in receiving HIS JOY?
- Do we LOVE JESUS with our everything?
- Are we loving others as HE LOVES US?
- Do we recall daily, moment-by-moment how HE had pardoned us?
- Do we lay down our cross daily, dying to ourselves, so that we can LIVE for HIM?
Lord,
Thank You for Your precious gift of salvation, for not leaving us as we were, lost, hopeless, and doomed to an eternity separated from You.
Help us, Lord, to not become anxious about earthly things, and help us, Lord, to look only to the heavenly treasures we are storing up as we walk in obedience to You.
As we walk here on earth, as we see the earth passing away, help us hold fast to You, Lord.
Help us, Father, to not stray from Your Truth.
Forgive us, Lord, for the sins we commit, for the wrong motives we seek, when we strive for our own pleasures.
Remind us, Father, how we are the children of God, the body of Christ.
Help us, Father, to endure, secure in that which we have received through Christ Jesus. Amen.
