Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Sorrow Turned to Everlasting Joy

“The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup;
You support my lot.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places;
Indeed, my heritage is beautiful to me.”

(The Psalms 16: 5-6 NASB)

What burden draws you to your knees?

  • In the eye of a storm, Our Father remains in control.
  • In a storm on the sea, the LORD steadies our earthen vessel.
  • In a time of anguish, may we call upon Our Savior when all hope seems lost.
  • In the dark of the valley, rest upon God’s promise that HE will stay close beside us even when we feel all alone.

“At that very time He rejoiced greatly in the Holy Spirit,
[This Scripture speaks of Jesus rejoicing about those who names are recorded in heaven.]
and [the Savior] said,

“I praise You, O Father,
Lord of heaven and earth,
that You have hidden these things from the wise and intelligent
and have revealed them to infants.
Yes, Father,
for this way was well-pleasing in Your sight.”

(The Gospel of Luke 10: 21 NASB)

What promise of God do we need to recall?

  • Do we really fully understand the abundance of God’s Amazing Grace?
  • Do we fully comprehend how there is no greater life than one lived for Jesus?
  • Do we totally, without a doubt, pursue to share Jesus with the unbelieving?
  • Do we 100% allow God’s Holy Spirit to fill us afresh with His abundant joy (even during times of our deepest distress)?

“So the ransomed of the LORD will return
And come with joyful shouting to Zion,
And everlasting joy will be on their heads.
They will obtain gladness and joy,
And sorrow and sighing will flee away.
I, even I, am He who comforts you.”

(The Book of Isaiah 51: 11-12a NASB)
  • What promise have we received?
  • What promise is ours, who believe, who have placed our faith in JESUS?
  • From WHOM will our joyful shouting & everlasting joy come?

Our Sorrow Turned to Everlasting Joy!

BELIEVE IT—for it is GOD’S PROMISE for all who remain faithful to the very end!

“You [LORD]
will make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence
[HOLY GOD]
is fullness of joy;
In Your right hand
[ALMIGHTY GOD]
there are pleasures forever.”

(The Psalms 16: 11 NASB)
