We must take God at His word!
“God is not a man, that He should lie,
(Numbers 23: 19 NASB)
Nor a son of man, that He should repent;
Has He said, and will He not do it?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good.”
Earlier today, I read an article that reported how the HOTTEST DAY ON EARTH occurred this week. For as long as records have been kept, THIS WEEK BROUGHT THE WORLD EXTREME HEAT!
As I read, the end of time and what the Bible speaks about that time came flooding into my mind.
- The wars & the rumors of more wars.
- The turmoil & the fighting among humanity.
- The evil & the deception of Satan.
- The teachers of God’s Word & the false teachers who teach falsehood.
- The misleading & the many anti-christs sent to blind people from the truth.
- The truth of God & the promised coming of Christ Jesus.
“God is not a man, that He should lie, . . .”
We must take God at His word!
“Nor a son of man, that He should repent; . . .”
God sent His Only Begotten Son to redeem us all & Jesus made the only way to be saved!
“Has He said, and will He not do it?
Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good.”
God will do what He says He will do!
We must take God at His word!
In the Gospels, the apostles are given the words to write, words provided by the Holy Spirit & words to help us be prepared for what’s to come. For so many years, I have been taught that after the second coming of Jesus, after the rapture of the church, fire and brimstone will fall upon the earth—Causing Extreme Heat.
Matthew slows down within his writing, allowing for almost half of the entire book to reveal the events of the week leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. In the twenty-fourth chapter of The Gospel According to Matthew, he records the words of—Jesus Himself—giving humanity signs to watch for in the days before His return.
“Therefore be on the alert,
(The Gospel According to Matthew 24: 42-44 NASB)
for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.
But be sure of this,
that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming,
he would have been on the alert
and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.
For this reason you also must be ready;
for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.”
Surely, our earthly life could end so quickly—
- Sudden illness could come upon us today.
- Vehicular death could come to us before this day ends.
- Violence caused by the evilness of Satan could take our life.
Anything could happen, and the Bible tells us that God numbered our days before there was even our first day of life.
“Therefore be on the alert, . . .”
Surely, there will be sweet release from this earthly life. For the Bible also tells all who have received the Lord’s salvation, the last day will not be bitter, but sweet.
The Lord is coming!
Individually for each one of us—OR—Collectively when Jesus comes to rapture the church.
We do not know if today will be—THAT DAY—But we know it is coming!
We must take God at His word!
“Therefore be on the alert,
(The Gospel According to Matthew 24: 42 NASB)
for you do not know which day your Lord is coming.”
Thus, in closing, with the thoughts of the news article swirling in my mind about the hottest day on earth experienced earlier this week, I question:
- Lord, how much longer will You wait?
&
- Lord, how much time do we have left to witness & testify of Your Grace?
The apostle Paul plainly records in his letter to the believers living in Philippi who we must be like & what we must be about—as we await the day the Lord calls us home.
“Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ,
(The Letter of Paul to the Philippians 2: 1-2 NASB)
if there is any consultation of love,
if there is any fellowship of the Spirit,
if any affection and compassion,
make my joy complete by being of the same mind,
maintaining the same love,
united in spirit,
intent on one purpose.”
One Purpose—God’s Redemption of the Entire World of Humanity!
May We Intentional—Doing God’s Will!
Jesus is Coming Again—Take God at His word!
