A walk through life toward eternity

KEEP PRAYING & KEEP THE ENEMY TREMBLING!

“Then he said to me,”
[Daniel, a Hebrew boy, who was taken into captivity &
Daniel, a believer in God, who was re-named Belteshazzar by Cyrus king of Persia &
this Daniel speaks of the vision of comfort the LORD gave to him]

“Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard,
and I have come in response to your words.”

(The Book of Daniel 10: 12 NASB)

If you are alive and breathing, then you have prayed, for even the atheists who choose to deny God—believe in the power of prayer.

I know what you’re thinking; I think the same.  This is ludicrous!

How can a person who denies God’s sovereignty also believe in the power of prayer?

I do not know the answer to that question; however, I have witnessed and experienced, firsthand, this fact.  People I know, those I love—

who have not given their hearts to Jesus—

those same people will send messages to me, saying one of two things:

  1. I am praying for _______________________.      OR
  2. Will you pray for _________________________?

If you are alive, as I am, then we have prayed for something.  Maybe those prayers have been superficial, such as:

  • Please let me get through this light before it turns red.
  • Please let me reach this object, that which remains just out of your reach.
  • Please let me _____________________.

There are so many superficial instances we daily encounter when we feel the innate desire to lift a prayer.

Miraculously, if you are alive, as I am, and have asked Jesus into your heart, as I have, then as Christians fully trusting in the power of our Lord Jesus Christ have prayed with authority:

  • Father, Thank YOU!
  • Thank You for sending Your Son Jesus.
  • Thank You for resurrecting Jesus to new life from the grave.
  • Thank You, God, for salvation.
  • Lord, please allow me to serve as Your hands and feet as I walk through this day.
  • Lord, please allow the conviction of Your Holy Spirit to speak to ___________’s heart, so he might be saved today.
  • Father, give me the words as I witness to my co-worker today.
  • Father, please allow me to speak the words of comfort You would have me speak to this one who is suffering.
  • Holy Spirit, help me be a blessing to others.
  • Holy Spirit, guide me; yes, guide my steps this day.
  • Jesus, sustain me.
  • Jesus, forgive me.
  • Jesus, Savior & Messiah, Son of God, thank You for giving Your life on the cross so I may receive Your gift of salvation.

Truly, as Christians, as believers in the power of God—we have so many reasons to NEVER STOP PRAYING!

  • If you have been praying for something & if you have not received an answer—KEEP PRAYING!
  • If you have been praying for someone, & if you have not yet received God’s response—DO NOT BECOME DISCOURAGED!
  • If you have been praying, child of God & if God has allowed you to wait, then remember—GOD’S DELAY IS NOT NECESSARILY AN ANSWER OF NO!  KEEP PRAYING!!!

Daniel was a small boy of twelve when he was taken hostage and led into captivity.  Even there, he continued to pray.  We know this truth because the Bible records it so.

Daniel remained in captivity for many years, even becoming discouraged, fearful even of what his future might hold.  We know this to be 100% truth because the Word of God speaks with authority.

Now I, Daniel, alone saw the vision,
[Daniel, a Hebrew, a believer in God]
while the men who were with me did not see the vision;
nevertheless, a great dread fell on them,
and they ran away to hide themselves.
So I was left alone and saw this great vision;
yet no strength was left in me,
for my natural color turned to a deathly pallor,
and I retained no strength.
But I heard the sound of his words;
and as soon as I heard the sound of his words,
I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground.

Then behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.

He said to me,

“O Daniel, man of high esteem,
understand the words that I am about to tell you and stand upright,
for I have now been sent to you.”

And when he had spoken this word to me, I stood up trembling.

Then he said to me,”
[Daniel was given a vision of comfort from his LORD]

Do not be afraid, Daniel,
for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this
and on humbling yourself before your God,
your words were heard,
and I have come in response to your words.

But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for twenty-one days;
then behold Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me,
for I had been left there with the kings of Persia.
Now I have come to give you an understanding
of what will happen to your people in the latter days,
for the vision pertains to the days yet future.”

(The Book of Daniel 10: 7-14 NASB)
  • Our Father hears our prayers, child of God!
  • Our Savior Jesus intercedes to the Father, saved one!
  • Our Redeemer and Friend we have in Jesus, hears our prayers!
  • God’s Holy Spirit utters the groanings to our Father, even when we cannot even speak aloud the words of our prayers!

CHILD of the MOST-HOLY GOD ALMIGHTY

KEEP PRAYING & KEEP THE ENEMY TREMBLING!

  • We must pray for what matters most!
  • We must pray, taking everything to God!
  • We must pray, remembering how, as saints of God, we have direct access to our Father!
  • We must pray & NEVER STOP PRAYING!

We know this is the Gospel Truth, because in the Word of God, the apostle Paul reminds us.

“Stand firm therefore,
HAVING GIRDED YOUR LOINS WITH TRUTH, and
HAVING PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS,

and having shod
YOUR FEET WITH THE PREPARATION OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE;
in addition to all, taking up the shield of faith with which you will be able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
And take
THE HELMET OF SALVATION,
and
the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit,

and with this in view,
be on the alert with all perseverance and
petition for all the saints,
and pray on my behalf,
that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth,
to make know with boldness the mystery of the gospel,
for which I am an ambassador in chains,
that in proclaiming it I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Ephesians 6: 14-20 NASB)
