Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Nothing Happens Apart from God’s Wisdom

“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness,
and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
in whom we have redemption,
the forgiveness of sins.”

[Just pause to re-read, to dwell upon what we just read in this verse]

“He is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn of all creation.
For by Him all things were created,
both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible,
whether thrones or
dominions or
rulers or
authorities
—all things have been created through Him and for Him.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Colossians 1: 13-16 NASB)

Maybe we take for granted the fact that we have ALL the things we need to survive, and just quite possibly, we never consider in our daily goings and comings, that we have ALL the things we need to breathe, to move, to exist.

But We Do!

In our Wednesday night Bible study, we have been walking through The Book of Job, a study in which I once voiced the statement:  “It’s a suffrage.”  Those who know the Bible and what The Book of Job entails would smile and nod in agreement.  However, of late, my silly answer has changed to one of awe, as I see the wisdom God is revealing through The Book of Job.

The LORD speaks these words to His servant Job, to the man who is suffering, reminding Job that it is GOD who has control of the suffering he is experiencing. In God’s words to Job (and to us), we see the wisdom of God on display through the creatures of nature He has created.

May we Never Forget how special we are to God.

&

May we Always Remember howGod’s Got This—Whatever This We Might Be Walking Through!

The LORD SAYS—

“Is it by your understanding that the hawk soars,
Stretching his wings toward the south?
Is it at your command that the eagle mounts up
And makes his nest on high?
On the cliff he dwells and lodges,
Upon the rocky crag, an inaccessible place.
From there he spies out food;
His eyes see it from afar.
His young ones also suck up blood;
And where the slain are, there is he.”

(The Book of Job 39:  26-30 NASB)

God cares for all of His creation.

  • God feeds His creation and gives them understanding they need to survive.
  • God created & God commands & God knows ALL because He is Almighty God—Who Was—Who Is—& Who Will Forever Be—GOD!

Nothing Happens Apart from God’s Wisdom

In The Proverbs, we read this Truth recorded—

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

(The Proverbs 9: 10 NASB)

Wisdom calls to us, inviting us to receive the gift of God’s wisdom—His salvation.

Wisdom cannot be developed in & of ourselves because wisdom only comes from God.

As we seek knowledge, seeking to become smart in our own selves, but in actuality we are to be on a SEARCH, on a QUEST for GOD HIMSELF!

“The LORD possessed me at the beginning of His way,

Before His works of old.

From everlasting I was established,

[Wisdom was here from the beginning]

From the beginning, from the earliest times of the earth.

When there were no depths I was brought forth,

[Wisdom was brought forth by God]

When there were no springs abounding with water.

  • Before the mountains were settled,
  • Before the hills I was brought forth;

[Wisdom came because of God]

While He had not yet made the earth and the fields,

Nor the first dust of the world.

When He established the heavens, I was there,

[Wisdom was with God]

  • When He inscribed a circle on the face of the deep,
  • When He made firm the skies above,
  • When the springs of the deep became fixed,
  • When He set for the sea its boundary

So that the water would not transgress His command,

When He marked out the foundations of the earth;

Then I was beside Him, as a master workman;

[Wisdom was with God from the beginning]

  • Rejoicing always before Him,
  • Rejoicing in the world,

His earth,

And having my delight in the sons of men.

[Wisdom delighted with the Creator]

Now therefore, O sons, listen to me,

For blessed are they who keep my ways.

Heed instruction and be wise,

And do not neglect it.

[Wisdom is ours to claim through God]

Blessed is the man who listens to me,

Watching daily at my gates,

Waiting at my doorposts.

[We must watch & wait for God’s Wisdom]

[& we are instructed WHY]

For he who finds me

finds life

And obtains favor from the LORD,

[For the Wisdom found in God’s Word Tells Us to Seek God With All Our Heart, Soul, & Mind, to Seek His Salvation]

[However, God cautions those who turn toward mankind’s knowledge]

But he who sins against me injures himself;

All those who hate me love death.”

(The Proverbs 8: 22-36 NASB)

    1. Aunt Verne,
      It is amazing how God can reveal Himself to us, to His children, even through the workings of nature. I am so honored that you are reading the blog, and I thank you immensely.
      Forgive me for not sending you a birthday card, but I do not have your Apartment #. Could you share this with me.

      Finally, I would love to gather the girls (if possible) and mom (for sure) to drive up to Dayton for a visit in June or July (whatever works for the three of you—Toni included).

      Have a blessed day. I love you.
