There is dark, but HALLELUJAH—THERE is JESUS—the LIGHT of the WORLD!
There is dark, and then, there is DARK.
For example—
- There is a dark that comes at night, and then there is a dark that comes with a moonless light.
- There is a dark that comes from Satan, one that veils a person’s spiritual eyes.
- There is a dark that comes from the devil, one that tempts a person to immoral actions, to sin.
There is dark and then, there is the DARK STAIN of SIN.
“Then the LORD said to Moses,
(Exodus 10: 21 NASB)
“Stretch out your hand toward the sky,
that there may be darkness over the land of Egypt,
even a darkness which may be felt.”
There is a dark, and then, there is a DARK that can be FELT.
For example—
- There is a dark that comes when all the lights in the house are extinguished.
- There is a dark that comes when we who believe let down our guard to the enemy Satan.
- There is a dark that comes from the devil, a temptation we must run from, fleeing to safety, back to the arms of our Savior.
There is dark, but then, there is the LORD JESUS CHRIST, OUR REDEEMER!

There is dark, but HALLELUJAH—THERE is JESUS—the LIGHT of the WORLD!
“So Moses stretched out his hand toward the sky,
(Exodus 10: 22-23 NASB)
and there was thick darkness in all the land of Egypt for three days.
They did not see one another,
nor did anyone rise from his place for three days,
but all the sons of Israel had light in their dwellings.”
If we pause in our haste to see our friends, then we will also see the struggles they are facing. There are struggles with loss, with hardship, with unbelief, and even with temptation. As the Holy Spirit brings these friends to our minds, then we need to pause to pray, to lift these ones up in prayer.
Father,
Thank you for those you have brought into our lives.
LORD,
Help them see Your Light. Help them with their struggles, with their difficulties, with their temptations, & even with their unbelief. Father, please help us focus on You, even when the darkness of the world looms all around, “even a darkness which may be felt.”
But Father,
Thank You, for sending Jesus, the light of the world. Lead us (those who know You as their Savior) to Your divine appointments today, to an opportunity to share with those who are wandering in spiritual darkness. Help us be bold in our witness, so they too may have “light in their dwellings” deep within their souls, changing their hearts from within.
Father, would You reveal Your light in their lives today?
In the name of Jesus, the everlasting light, we pray. Amen.
Truly, there is a dark force in this world, but HALLELUJAH—THERE is JESUS—the LIGHT of the WORLD!
Thus wrote the prophet Isaiah to encourage the people of Judah and Jerusalem & to encourage us, the people of today—
“Arise, shine;
(The Book of Isaiah 60: 1-2 & 19-20 NASB)
for your light has come,
And the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.
For behold, darkness will cover the earth
And deep darkness the peoples;
But the LORD will rise upon you
And His glory will appear upon you.
Nations will come to your light,
And kings to the brightness of your rising.
. . .
No longer will you have the sun for light by day,
Nor for brightness will the moon give you light;
But you will have the LORD for an everlasting light,
And your God for your glory.
Your sun will no longer set,
Nor will your moon wane;
For you will have the LORD for an everlasting light,
And the days of your mourning will be over.”
