Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

God promises—The Truth—Assuredly is the TRUTH!

Earlier this semester, on the campus where I teach, we experienced a murder, a taking of one life by another.  This horribleness was unexpected, radically shocking the entire campus of students, faculty, staff, and administrators.

If you have lived in this world long, then you have experienced the way humanity treats one another.

  • Envy.
  • Hatred.
  • Indifference.
  • Bitter Thoughts.
  • Uncaring Selfishness.

There are so many instances when we humans can allow the devil access to our thoughts & our hearts.  Satan wants to destroy and kill.

Hatred in one’s heart is the moral equivalent of murder.

It’s the TRUTH because the Bible says so!

We see another who seems to have more, to dress better, to be more favored, or to be further up the success ladder, and the devil plants a bitter thought in our heart.

Self-centeredness—Bitterness & Anger—Indifference toward others—Envious of others—Hateful Thoughts—All have the potential to lead us to Harmful Actions.

When we allow the Evil one access, it is then that we see with clarity the depth of evilness found in the world, all because of Satan.

In the Bible, we read instances where one hated another, enough to even wish the hated one—was dead.

It’s the TRUTH because the Bible says so!

Truly, it is difficult to understand how mankind can sit down to calmly eat a meal while another is suffering and seeking to be set free.  What was TRUE thousands of years ago, beginning with Cain’s murder of his brother Abel, is STILL TRUE today—

The world still desperately needs a Savior, needs JESUS, who has the power to make hearts brand new.

“Jesus [the Savior sent by God] answered
[to the ruler of the Jews]
[to a man of the Pharisees]
[to the man who approached under the cover of a dark night]
[to the man Nicodemus who was seeking the truth of God]
and said to him,

“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

(The Gospel According to John 3: 3 NASB)

Whoever accepts this truth has certified that God is Truth!

Period.

Whoever accepts that Jesus is the Only One who came from heaven to earth knows there is no other valid source of Spiritual Truth!

Jesus is the Only Way to know God!

Period.

If you know Jesus as your Savior, then you have a perspective that those lost to God simply do not have, & this perspective makes the difference between Life & Death for you.

Truly, you are blessed if you know God!

God promises—The Truth—Assuredly is the TRUTH!

Nevertheless, we live within a world where people constantly proclaim:  “Just follow your heart,” saying that one’s heart clearly will lead him down the right path.

However, the Word of God speaks ONLY the TRUTH!

The prophet Jeremiah was led by God to warn us of GOD’S TRUTH.

“The heart is more deceitful than all else
And is desperately sick;
Who can understand it?
I, the LORD, search the heart,
I test the mind,
Even to give to each man according to his ways,
According to the results of his deeds.”

(The Book of Jeremiah 17: 9-10 NASB)
  • We are to drop ourselves & pick up what God has given to us.
  • We are to love well & to pick up our cross & go to seek the lost.
  • We are to NOT pretend to love others, but we are to REALLY love others, loving them well.
  • We are to build relationship with them, waiting upon the Holy Spirit to prepare their hearts for a Gospel conversation.
  • We are to in obedience ask them the question—

DO YOU KNOW FOR SURE WHERE YOU WILL SPEND ETERNITY?

God promises—The Truth—Assuredly is the TRUTH!

“Therefore say, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD,
“I will gather you from the peoples and assemble you out of the countries among which you have been scattered,
and I will give you the land of Israel.” ‘
When they come there, they will remove all its detestable things and all its abominations from it.
And I will give them one heart,
and put a new spirit within them.
And I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh
and give them a heart of flesh,
that they may walk in My statutes
and keep My ordinances
and do them.
Then they will be My people,
and I shall be their God.

But as for those whose hearts go after their detestable things and abominations,
I will bring their conduct down on their heads,’
declares the Lord God.”

(The Book of Ezekiel 11: 17-21 NASB)
