SOMETHING FAR MORE PRECIOUS!
“I cry out to You for help, but You do not answer me;
(The Book of Job 30: 20-23 NASB)
I stand up, and You turn Your attention against me.
You have become cruel to me;
With the might of Your hand You persecute me.
You lift me up to the wind and cause me to ride;
And You dissolve me in a storm.
For I know that You will bring me to death
And to the house of meeting for all living.”
- Do we ever pray, crying out to God, and feels as if He ignores us?
- Do we ever get the sense that God seems to be turning away from us while we are in our greatest need?
- Do we ever just proclaim: “God, why are you treating me this way?”
God is all-powerful!
- It cannot be disputed, though man and serpent has attempted.
God is mighty!
- It is declarable, factual, and believable.
With God’s might, with His hand, He can do to human beings whatever!
- He may send us persecution.
- He may send us life-storms.
- He may allow us health-struggles.
- He may dissolve our lives right before our eyes.
God holds our very next breath in His amazing & almighty power!
What can we, mere humans, do to stop the power of God?
When we face the weight of unbearable struggles, oftentimes, it seems as though—
- We cry out in prayer & our prayers are unanswered.
- We come before God & God is not present.
- We even come to think that we are only receiving the ‘cruelty’ of Almighty God & that He is persecuting us for no reason.
We may even think that our next breath will be our last & then our judgment will come.
Truly, life as we know it, often seems to only bring hardships.
Today, I wonder why we feel this way.
WHY—
Do we feel totally separated from God when life-struggles come to us?
WHY—
Do we feel totally ostracized from God’s presence when unbearable trials come?
God does not promise to alleviate our struggles. God never did.
BUT GOD DOES PROMISE US SOMETHING FAR MORE PRECIOUS!
“All things came into being through Him,
(The Gospel According to John 1: 3-4 & 9 & 11-13 NASB)
and apart from Him
nothing came into being that has come into being.
In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men.”

“There was the true Light
which, coming into the world,
enlightens every man.”
. . .
“He came to His own, and those who were His own did not receive Him.
But as many as received Him,
to them He gave the right to become children of God,
even to those who believe in His name,
who were born,
not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man,
but of God.”

GOD PROMISES TO HIS CHILDREN—
- That through Him, we are more than conquerors!
- That through Him, we are more than victorious!
- That through Him, we are eternally set apart!
- That through His Only Son Jesus Christ—We have the promise of eternity with HIM!
WE—
WHO BELIEVE IN JESUS &
WHO HAVE BEEN FORGIVEN OUR SINS &
WHO HAVE RECEIVED GOD’S GIFT OF SALVATION
WE—
- HAVE SOMETHING FAR MORE PRECIOUS,
- SOMETHING FAR MORE BEAUTIFUL &
- FAR GREATER THAN ANYTHING THE STRUGGLES ON THIS EARTH BRING.
WE HAVE—
THE ETERNAL PLEDGE, THE ASSURANCE OF GOD’S AMAZING GIFT OF ETERNITY IN HIS PRESENCE!
So in this life,
- We may lament over our struggles &
- We may cry out to God and feel as if we are so far away from everything precious to us &
- We may even scream: “God, this just is not fair!”
BUT GOD—
- HE IS CAPABLE!
- HE IS GOOD!
- HE IS POWERFUL!
- HE IS LOVING!
- HE IS GIVING!
NO MATTER WHAT!
GOD HAS ALWAYS BEEN AMAZINGLY GOOD & GOD WILL ALWAYS BE—NO MATTER WHAT!
