Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Even If You Cannot Imagine It—

“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus,
who,
although He existed in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,
but emptied Himself,

[Christ Jesus willingly laid aside His privileges as God and]

taking the form of a bond-servant,
and being made in the likeness of men.
Being found in appearance as a man,

He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,
even death on a cross.

For this reason also,
God highly exalted Him,
and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name,
so that
at the name of Jesus
EVERY KNEE WILL BOW,
of those who are in heaven
and on earth
and under the earth,
and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Chris is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father.”

(The Letter of Paul to the Philippians 2: 5-11 NASB)

God Himself—humbled Himself

  • To become like a member of His creation.

God Himself—humbled Himself

  • To death, even death on the cross.

God Himself—in the form of Jesus humbled Himself

  • To endure the cross to do the Father’s will.

Even If You Cannot Imagine It—This is the REAL TRUTH!

“For Christ also died for sins once for all,
the just for the unjust,
so that He might bring us to God,
having been put to death in the flesh,
but made alive in the spirit;”

(The First Letter of Peter 3: 18 NASB)

IF—there is “NO” Resurrection of Jesus—

  • Then we who believe are most pitied.
  • Then HOPE in JESUS is just optimistic thought.
  • Then this life is truly ALL there is to live.
  • Then once we die, we remain dead.
  • Then, we who believe, are living a lie.

IF—there is “NO” Resurrection of Jesus—

BUT THERE IS RESURRECTION TO NEW LIFE THROUGH JESUS!

Even If You Cannot Imagine It—This is the REAL TRUTH!

This Jesus God raised up again,
to which we are all witnesses.”

(The Acts of the Apostles 2: 32 NASB)

We do not celebrate the beginning of Jesus; we celebrate the birth of the Son of man.

We do not celebrate the end of Jesus; we celebrate the resurrection of the Son of God.

  • Jesus emptied Himself.
  • Jesus became like His creation in human form.
  • Son of God & Son of man.
  • Jesus laid aside heaven & all its glory.
  • Jesus became a servant.

Jesus emptied Himself & became one who is “full of humility.”

Jesus Christ—

  • Glory in Heaven!
  • God in the flesh!

Became a servant—for you & for me!

& HE

  • canceled the sin debt we could never afford to pay &
  • nailed it to the cross!

God does not exist for your benefit or for mine.

We exist for God!

Even If You Cannot Imagine It—This is the REAL TRUTH!

“Jesus said to her,
“Your brother will rise again.”

Martha said to Him,
“I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.”

[Martha was speaking to Jesus when He came to raise her brother Lazarus to new life.]

Jesus said to her,
I am the resurrection and the life;

he who believes in Me will live even if he dies,
and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.

Do you believe this?”

(The Gospel According to John 11: 23-26 NASB)
