We do not need Jesus just to go to heaven!

We need Jesus for every single moment of our lives!

Do we know why?

Probably we do if we have been raised in church, if we have studied the Scriptures, if we have listened to the sermons in church, and if we are listening to God speak to us through His Word and through His Holy Spirit.  If we have been on our knees praying, then we should know the ‘why.’

Yet, if we have not, then probably we do not know.

• Maybe we were raised in church.
• Maybe our fathers took us to church.
• Maybe our mothers led us to see God within our home.
• Maybe we were taught the verses of the Bible in Sunday School.
• Maybe we were dragged to the house of God every time the doors were open.
• Maybe we even ‘pretended’ to believe, to be ‘one of them, the Christians.’
• Maybe we even tried to read our Bible and to walk ‘right.’

BUT, IT IS A TRUTH, GOD KNOWS WHO BELONGS TO HIM, WHO ARE HIS CHILDREN & WHO ARE ONLY PRETENDING TO BE HIS!

We Are—

Desperate & in Need of God’s Grace!

We Are—

Sinners in need of a Savior!

We Need—

God to show us what we can become by His grace!

We Need—

God to show us His mercy, not giving us what we truly deserve!

&

His grace, giving to us what we can never deserve, purchase, or earn!

Desperate & in Need of God’s Grace!

This is who we truly are—

• We are not sinners because we sin.
• We sin Because we are sinners!

IT IS WHO WE ARE!

We have all gone our own way, all tried to live our own way, to live apart from God.  Yes, truly, this is who we are as children, as young adults, as fathers and mothers, as people.  We think:  ‘I will be the boss of me!’

Maybe we even plant a flag, stake our place, make a future plan for our lives—daring God to cause us to make a change in our lives & deep down in our hearts.

YET GOD KNOWS US SO WELL!

IT WAS GOD WHO THOUGHT OF US, WHO CREATED US, WHO FASHIONED US & THEN PLACED US IN OUR MOTHER’S WOMB!

& EVEN TRUE, GOD KNOWS WHO WE ARE APART FROM HIM!

We Are—

Desperate & in Need of God’s Grace!

We Are—

Sinners in need of a Savior!

The apostle John, writes to us, reminding us ‘Whose’ we are & ‘What’ the LORD has done for us & ‘How’ we are to live.  Let us not walk throughout our days as children of the devil, living our own way, doing our own thing, refusing to walk in the way the Holy Spirit leads us to walk.

• Let us not live as children of darkness (living for Satan).
• Instead, may we awake & live as children of the Light of the world (alive because of the shed blood of Christ covering all our sins).
