What If We Had Stopped With Fear?
“And an angel of the Lord suddenly stood before them,
(The Gospel According to Luke 2: 9 NASB)
and the glory of the Lord shone around them;
and they were terribly frightened.”
What if we stopped right there?
- What if we stood, afraid?
- What if we never stepped forward in celebration and belief?
- What if we never bowed to worship the King of kings?
- What if we read the biblical account of the star, read about the babe in the manger, studied about Mary and Joseph’s faith, saw how the Magi brought gifts to the Christ child, heard of the Gospel message—AND STILL CHOSE NOT TO BELIEVE IN JESUS AS SAVIOR?!!!
What If We Had Stopped With Fear?
What if We Never Reached these next verses?
“But the angel said to them,
(The Gospel According to Luke 2: 10-11 NASB)
‘Do not be afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be for all the people;
for today in the city of David there has been born for you a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”
- We would be most miserable.
- We would not know Jesus.
- We would be most un-done.
- We would die in our sins.
We would never know the gift God gave to the world when He sent His Son.
Jesus’ birth is the beginning & Jesus’ second coming is the Promise!
Once we believe Jesus is who He says He is, the Son of God, then His Second Coming, His Promised Return—
- Consumes our thoughts,
- Guides our hearts,
- Puts actions to our bodies, and
- Leads us to share Jesus with others who do not yet know.
What If We Had Stopped With Fear?
Then others would not come to know the LOVE of GOD!
“Who will separate us from the love of Christ?
(The Letter of Paul to the Romans 8: 35-39 NASB)
Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
Just as it is written,
‘FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG;
WE ARE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED.’
But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.
For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers,
nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
