In Complete, Total, Thick Darkness, Our Sins Were Laid Upon Him

“When the sixth hour came, [noon] darkness fell over the whole land until the ninth hour [3pm].”
(Mark 15: 33 NASB)
We’re a mess! Can I say this statement again because we humans need to allow these words to sink down into us.
WE ARE A MESS!
Let us see exactly what the Psalm of David speaks about our Lord Jesus—
“My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
(Psalm 22: 15-21 NASB)
And my tongue cleaves to my jaws;
And You lay me in the dust of death. (15)
For dogs have surrounded me;
A band of evildoers has encompassed me;
They pierced my hands and my feet. (16)
I can count all my bones.
They look, they stare at me; (17)
They divide my garments among them,
And for my clothing they cast lots. (18)
But You, O LORD, be not far off;
O You my help, hasten to my assistance. (19)
Deliver my soul from the sword,
My only life from the power of the dog. (20)
Save me from the lion’s mouth;
From the horns of the wild oxen You answer me.”
WE ARE TRULY A MESS!
Since we are—a mess—we need a BIG GOD!

- Thank YOU, SAVIOR, REDEEMER, CHRIST JESUS!
- Thank YOU, GOD, EMMANUEL, JEHOVAH JIREH, ALMIGHTY GOD, LORD & CREATOR—YOU ARE SO IMMEASURABLY LARGE!
Today, in order to better understand just exactly what Jesus Christ has done for all humanity, what He provided during the three hours when the earth was encased in pitch blackness, we need to see just exactly ‘what we are, who we are, and from where we were’ when He paid the price of our sins with His Shed Blood, when He saved our souls!
Let us see exactly what the Bible says—
“Now not for his sake only was it written that it was credited to him,
but for our sake also, to whom it will be credited,
[not for Abraham’s sake only but for ours too]
as those who believe in Him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead,
He who was delivered over because of our transgressions,
and was raised because of our justification.
Therefore, having been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand;
and we exult in hope of the glory of God.”
(Romans 4: 23 through 5: 2 NASB)
Once we see just exactly ‘what we are, who we are, and from where we were’ when Jesus willingly laid down His life for us, then we begin to see the depth of His mercy & His immeasurable grace!
- May we never forget where we were headed when JESUS FOUND US!
- May we never cease proclaiming GOD’S AMAZING GRACE!
- May we never stop our mouths nor our hearts from praising the LORD JESUS CHRIST!
“I will tell of Your name to my brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
You who fear the LORD, praise Him;
All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
And stand in awe of Him, all you descendants of Israel.
- For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
- Nor has He hidden His face from him;
- But when he cried to Him for help,
He heard.”
