Back-to-Back: The TRUTH IS the TRUTH!
If you know me and shared any amount of time with me, then you have probably heard me say, “I do not fear much, but I do fear prison.” Yes, locked up without the freedom to go, to do, to be who God has created me to be—scares me.
BUT GOD!
- God Himself made the only way to know Him!
- Jesus Himself came from Heaven to reveal the only way to receive God’s Saving Grace!
- The Holy Spirit comes to reside within us at the moment we Accept Jesus as our Savior!
There is freedom in Christ Jesus!
“Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”
(Romans 8: 1 NASB)
This morning, as I read God’s Holy Word, the thought of being held captive against one’s will permeates my thoughts. We only need to watch the news for ten seconds to see how people are hurting. We only need to walk across the street to see how our neighbors are feeling some defeat within their lives. When we go to work tomorrow and speak with our co-workers, then the sense of defeat will reside there too.

Maybe take time right now to listen to both melodies, back-to-back; be reminded how easy it is to accept Jesus into your heart. See with clarity the words of JESUS HIMSELF!

that He gave His only begotten Son,
that whoever believes in Him
shall not perish, but have eternal life.
For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world,

Back-to-Back: GOD’S TRUTH IS the ONLY TRUTH!
“I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.
For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness,
so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.
For when you were slaves to sin, you were free in regard to righteousness.
Therefore what benefit were you then
deriving from the things of which you are now ashamed?
For the outcome of those things is death.
- But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God,
- you derived your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome,
- eternal life.
For the wages of sin is death,

- but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Yes, as I sit here reading the TRUTH found in God’s Holy Word, the thought of being held captive, enslaved to death, forced into eternal separation from God, condemned to eternal darkness AWAY from HOLY GOD permeates my thoughts.
- May we who walk in freedom to the NEW LIFE GOD OFFERS—PRAY for those across the world who are hurting.
- May we who have accepted the call of God, who serve as Christ Jesus’ ambassadors—REACH OUT to our neighbors who are feeling some defeat within their lives.
- May we who know Christ Jesus as Lord of our lives—SPEAK TRUTH with our co-workers who daily sense defeat residing in their lives.
John the Baptist was the forerunner to Jesus, and John was sent by God to prepare the way for Jesus, so that the hurting world of people could come to know the forgiveness of Christ Jesus.
“And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He who was with you beyond the Jordan, to whom you have testified, behold,

He is baptizing and all are coming to Him.”
John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing unless it has been given him from heaven.
You yourselves are my witnesses that I said,
“I am not the Christ, but,
I have been sent ahead of Him.”
Back-to-Back: John the Baptist was sent to PROCLAIM THE COMING OF THE MESSIAH!
Back-to-Back: John the Baptist was clear to SPEAK THE TRUTH OF THE COMING SAVIOR!
Back-to-Back: GOD’S TRUTH IS the ONLY TRUTH!
“He who has the bride is the bridegroom;
but the friend of the bridegroom,
who stands and hears him,
rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice.
So this joy of mine has been made full.
- He must increase, but I must decrease.
- He who comes from above is above all,
- he who is of the earth is from the earth and speaks of the earth.
- He who comes from heaven is above all.
- What He has seen and heard, of that He testifies;
and no one receives His testimony.
He who has received His testimony has set his seal to this, that God is true.”
(John 3: 29-32 NASB)
