We are Each Leaving
If you are a child (and in truth, all people born are a “child” of parents: a mom & a dad), then you will understand how it feels to “go home.” Even if we come from a home that was not so good but was really bad, still, there is a feeling deep within every human being that desires to “go home.”
If you are a parent (and in truth, all people who have been blessed with a child: whether given to us by God biologically or given to us by God in His unique, beautiful way), then you will understand how it feels when your child(ren) “come home.”
Going Home & Coming Home: These permeate our thoughts as we walk through this earthly life, and as we do (walk) live out our years, and as we gain the blessing of more birthdays, and as we gain the pain, the ache of our earthly bodies wearing out due to the aging process, because the Bible speaks the Truth: Every person born has an appointed day to die. In fact, the Bible tells us how our days of life are numbered even before God gives us the first day of life.
Trust the Bible, for it is God’s Word written for us: humanity.
In a Psalm of David, we read this:
“My frame [David’s body] was not hidden from You [from God],
(Psalm 139: 15-16 NASB)
When I [David] was made in secret,
And skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth;
Your eyes [God] have seen my unformed substance;
And in Your book [God’s book] were all written
The days that were ordained for me [a child, a person, a human being—David],
When as yet there was not one of them.”
Someday Soon— We are Each Leaving
YES! We are Each Leaving this place (earth)
& YES!
We Are Going Home to—Our Eternal Place—the one we have chosen to go to once we die.
Someday Soon—Each One of Us—We are Leaving our Life Here on Earth.
So, the question to ponder: What happens then (once we die, once we leave, once this life as we know—is through)?
The TRUTH of God is just that: THE TRUTH of GOD!
The Bible tells us that once we die, once we leave, once this life as we know is through, yes THEN—We will either Go to Heaven or Go to Hell.
In Hebrews, we read this:
“And inasmuch as it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment,
(Hebrews 9: 27-28 NASB)
so Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those who eagerly await Him.”
So, the question to ponder BECOMES (this side of death): Not, what happens when we die, once we leave, once this life as we know is through but—Where Will We Go—when we die?
What an Amazing God—The Creator of Every Living Thing!
For those who have CHOSEN this side of death to accept Jesus Christ as Savior & Lord, they proclaim:
- What an Amazing God we serve!
- What a Miraculous Father we worship!
- What an Eternal-Giving Savior we bow & honor & thank for dying upon the cross of Calvary—so we can come to know GOD!
In the book of 1 John we read:
“See how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God;
(1 John 3: 1-3 NASB)
and such we are.
For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.
Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be.
We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is.
And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
“Fix My Eyes” by for KING & COUNTRY resonates within me today as I pen these words because within these lyrics, the artists remind us—On WHOM—We Are To Fix Our Eyes as We Walk Throughout Our Earthly Days. Pause to listen & be reminded WHO WE ARE LIVING FOR—THIS SIDE OF ETERNITY!
HEAVEN.
The entire place, realm, and reality fills the mind.
- What does it look like?
- What will a Believer do?
- Who will a Christian see first, second, third, . . .?
- Where does it exist, EXACTLY?
- Whenever a Redeemed One arrives, will he recognize others as he does this side of HEAVEN?
Truly, there are more questions, this side of HEAVEN, than answers, yet one TRUTH we know for sure—God’s Word has much to say about us, the children of God & our Salvation, our Eternity, & our walk with GOD—this side of HEAVEN.
Someday Soon— We are Each Leaving
YES! We are Each Leaving this place (earth)
& YES!
We Are Going Home to—Our Eternal Place—the one we have chosen to go to once we die.
So, we must be ready to go— to die!
In the book of 2nd Peter, we read:
“But do not let this one fact escape your notice,
(2nd Peter 3: 8-9 NASB)
beloved, [child of God]
that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years like a day.
The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.”
