JUST IMAGINE—
Earlier this morning, I had the pleasure to read about different missionaries across the world, and while reading through the litany of those serving in a variety of capacities, I found the missionaries serving the deaf.
- Imagine never “hearing” the name Jesus.
- Imagine never “hearing” the Gospel message.
- Imagine never “hearing” the parables.
- Imagine never “hearing” the truth of God’s amazing love.
- Imagine never “hearing”!
The mission in West Africa titled “The StoryOne Camps for the Deaf in Africa” enable those serving the deaf community to evangelize, to share Jesus in sign language, the peoples’ heart language, to train disciples, and to educate others who can plant churches in deaf communities.
JUST IMAGINE—
- SOMEONE WHO HAS NEVER ‘HEARD’ THE WORD of GOD CAN SUDDENLY NOW HEAR THE WORD of GOD!
JUST IMAGINE—
- SOMEONE WHO WAS FAITHFUL TO GOD’S CALL ON HIS LIFE WAS GIVEN THE UNIQUE OPPORTUNITIY TO SHARE JESUS IN AN ‘OUT-OF-THE-BOX’ KIND OF WAY!
YES, JUST IMAGINE—
- HOW GRATEFUL THE DEAF WERE THAT THE ‘HEARING’ WERE FAITHFUL SERVANTS TO THE LORD’S CALLING!
TRULY, JUST IMAGINE—
- WHAT GOD CAN DO WITHIN OUR LIVES—IF WE ARE WILLING!
- WHAT GOD CAN DO WITHIN THE LIVES OF OTHERS—IF WE ARE OBEDIENT TO HIS CALL!
Twice in the parable Jesus spoke of the “Sower and Soils,” He said these words:
“And He was saying,
(Mark 4: 9 NASB)
[Jesus was speaking to the large crowd of people next to the sea.]
“He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
And then again a few verses later—
“If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear.”
(Mark 4: 23-25 NASB)
“And He was saying to them,
[Jesus is speaking directly to His disciples during this instance.]
“Take care what you listen to.
By your standard of measure it will be measured to you;
and more will be given you besides.
For whoever has, to him more shall be given;
and whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.”
JUST IMAGINE—WHO CAN COME TO KNOW CHRIST AS SAVIOR & LORD!
To just “blend in” within the day-to-day world in which we live is so easy, but we are called to be DIFFERENT!
To just “blend in” within the world takes no effort at all, but we are called to be SET APART—TO BE DIFFERENT!
To just “blend in” within the days we are given to live allows us to live “comfortably” as we say nothing, speak nothing, and shine no light into the dark places we encounter each day.
To just “blend in” is so easy, but we are called to BE TRANSFORMED—TO BE SET APART—TO BE DIFFERENT!
- JUST IMAGINE—IF WE SHARED THE GOSPEL MESSAGE TODAY WITH SOMEONE!
- JUST IMAGINE—HOW JESUS COULD CHANGE THE LIVES OF PEOPLE—IF WE WERE FAITHFUL DISCIPLES!
JUST IMAGINE!
Once a person has received Jesus as his Savior, he has received the “good measure” of seed to scatter within this world during the days the LORD has given the person to live.
- That’s the Christian’s task—to scatter the seed.
- That’s the Disciple of Christ’s task—to be a seed sower.
- That’s the Child of God’s task—to empty out our bag of seed, for as we do, God will faithfully give us more ‘seed’ to sow & send us to new fields (new places) where we can faithfully sow.
May we never forget WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST JESUS!
May we never forget WHAT TASK WE HAVE BEEN GIVEN!
MAY WE—JUST IMAGINE—WHAT GOD WILL DO—AS WE ARE FAITHFUL TO HIM!
“For whoever has, to him more shall be given;
(Mark 4: 25 NASB)
and whoever does not have, even what he has shall be taken away from him.”
