GREAT FAITH!
The woman was not from here but from the Roman province. She was an outsider. Tyre and Sidon were the district she called home. She was a Gentile, a Canaanite, a Greek, yes, as mentioned earlier, a true outsider, a “not from here” type of woman. Yet still she approached the ONE who she knew could heal her daughter.
“And a Canaanite woman from the region came out and began to cry out, saying, “Have mercy on me, Lord, Son of David; my daughter is cruelly demon-possessed.”
(Matthew 15: 22 NASB 1995 Translation)
One of Satan’s evil ways is to convince us how Jesus is too busy for us, how our prayer concern is really TOO SMALL for God. That is a lie! May we never forget—Satan is the father of lies!
- God wants ALL people to come to Him!
- God desires to save ALL MANKIND!
- God knows ALL PEOPLE need JESUS!
GOD LOVES & EXTENDS MERCY TO ALL!
IN HIS AMAZING LOVE, GOD’S GRACE IS GIVEN!
“But He did not answer her a word. And His disciples came and implored Him, saying, “Send her away, because she keeps shouting at us.”
(Matthew 15: 23 NASB 1995 Translation)
Jesus had been with the Pharisees and scribes, and likely, Jesus was exhausted from all their questioning trickery and from all the ways they attempted to twist His words. After holding a discourse about the unclean and clean food, about how all food that goes into one’s mouth is spiritually “clean” to eat, that what proceeds from our heart and not our stomach is what’s most important—After all that, Jesus was tired, so he went away to another place. That’s where the woman found the ONE she had been seeking, the ONE she knew could heal her demon-possessed daughter.
- TRULY, THE WOMAN’S FAITH WAS GREAT!
- TRULY, THE WOMAN WAS A WOMAN OF FAITH, EVEN BEFORE SHE SHOUTED!
- TRULY, THE WOMAN TRUSTED & KNEW JESUS HAD THE POWER TO HEAL HER CHILD!
- TRULY, THE WOMAN DID THE ONLY THING SHE KNEW TO DO—SHE CRIED OUT TO JESUS IN FAITH—BELIEVING!
“But He answered and said, [to His disciples]

“I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”
But she came and began to bow down before Him, saying, “Lord, help me!”
And He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the dogs.”
But she said, “Yes, Lord; but even the dogs feed on the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.”
Then Jesus said to her, “O woman, your faith is great; it shall be done for you as you wish.”
And her daughter was healed at once.”
GOD SEES OUR FAITH!
GOD KNOWS OUR NEED!
GOD ANSWERS OUR PRAYERS!
What are we praying for today? & How are we desperately seeking God?
If we cannot walk by Faith
&
If we do not believe by Faith
- Then, most assuredly, we will stop praying!
- Then, most definitely, we will stop crying out to our Lord!
Let us—NOT listen to the devil’s lies!
Let us—break down the barriers that stand in the way of our FAITH!
Let us—call upon the name of our Lord!
Let us—know even before & despite how Jesus answers—Jesus hears our prayers & that Jesus will respond to our prayers!
Let us—be known as women and men of GREAT FAITH!
Let us—BE PEOPLE of GREAT FAITH!
Let us—EXERCISE OUR FAITH IN JESUS’ NAME!
