Once We Are—THERE
- Once we arrive to heaven, do you think we will speak about “tomorrow” and our plans?
- Once there, in the presence of God, do you think we will desire to be any other place but there—in God’s presence?
- Once Jesus brings us home to paradise, do you think we will ever recall our time here, our struggles, our concerns, our temptations, or our life—here on earth?
Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world, said—
“Truly, truly, I say to you, the one who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.”
(John 5: 24 NASB)
Today is a perfect day to unpack the truth found here in Jesus’ words.
1st—Jesus speaks only truth. Within this solitary verse, He tells us twice this is—HIS TRUTH!
2nd—Jesus is the one speaking. JESUS NEVER LIES!
3rd—Jesus explains that there are steps to take, conditions if you will, that a person must experience to know—THE PERSON of JESUS IN A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP!
4th—Jesus gives us Condition #1—“the one who hears My word, . . .” We must be willing to—HEAR JESUS!
5th—Jesus gives us Condition #2—“and believes Him who sent Me, . . .” WE MUST BELIEVE GOD SENT HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON—JESUS CHRIST—TO SAVE HUMANITY!
6th—Jesus explains what we receive when we do: HEAR JESUS & BELIEVE GOD—WE WILL RECEIVE ETERNAL LIFE!
7th—Jesus assures us what we will escape when we do: HEAR JESUS & BELIEVE GOD—WE WILL “not come into judgment” BECAUSE THROUGH JESUS WE WILL ESCAPE GOD’S JUDGMENT & WE HAVE “passed out of death into life.”
Thank YOU, JESUS!
TODAY IS A PERFECT DAY TO RECALL THE ETERNAL LIFE WE WILL EXPERIENCE WITHIN GOD’S PRESENCE—ALL BECAUSE OF THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS UPON THE CROSS OF CALVARY!
Once We Are—THERE
THAT DAY IS COMING!
So, what do we do as we wait?
There are so many biblical passages that proclaim our task, so many places we could turn within God’s Word.
The apostle Peter wrote to those scattered throughout the areas of the known world during the 1st Century. Let us take up our Bible and let us be reminded what WE—WHO HEAR JESUS & WHO BELIEVE GOD & WHO HAVE RECEIVED ETERNAL LIFE—MUST DO AS WE AWAIT OUR “COMING HOME DAY TO OUR ETERNITY WITH GOD.”
“But according to His promise we are looking for new heavens and a new earth, in which righteousness dwells.
(2 Peter 3: 13-15 & 17-18 NASB)
Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things,”
Step #1—“Be diligent to be found spotless and blameless by Him, at peace,”
Step #2—“And regard the patience of our Lord as salvation;”
“just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, . . .”
“You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand,”
Step #3—“Be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unscrupulous people and lose your own firm commitment,”
Step #4—“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.”
Once We Are—THERE—We Will Reside IN HEAVEN—Within God’s Presence!
Until That Day, May We Faithfully—
- Determine our Focus as we—DELIGHT IN WHO GOD IS!
- Wait in Peace—TRUSTING GOD IS AT WORK!
- Deepen Our Relationship as we—LOVE GOD & TRUST HIM IN THE WAIT!
