ETERNITY—The Decision of No Return!
- For some (for the Lost), it will always and forever be—a dreadful choice with ETERNAL consequences!
- For the Redeemed & for the Lost, it will always and forever be—the choice that makes ALL the difference!
“So Pilate said to Him,
[Pilate spoke these words to Jesus on the day Jesus was crucified as the Ultimate Sacrifice!]
“Are you speaking to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You, and I have authority to crucify You?”
Jesus answered him,
[Jesus reminds us from WHOM all authority is given & WHO was in Complete Control!]
“You would have no authority over Me at all, if it had not been given to you from above; for this reason the one who handed Me over to you has the greater sin.”
As a result of this, Pilate made efforts to release Him; but the Jews shouted, saying,
“If you release this Man, you are not a friend of Caesar; everyone who makes himself out to be a king opposes Caesar!”
Therefore when Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called The Pavement—but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.
Now it was the day of preparation for the Passover; it was about the sixth hour [about noon].
And he said to the Jews,
“Look, your King!”
So they shouted,
“Away with Him, away with Him, crucify Him!”
Pilate said to them,
“Shall I crucify your King?”
The chief priests answered,
We have no king except Caesar.”
So he then [Pilate did] handed Him [Pilate handed Jesus over] to them
[Pilate handed Jesus over to the people.]
to be crucified.
They took Jesus, therefore, and He went out, carrying His own cross, to the place called the Place of a Skull, which in Hebrew is called, Golgotha.
There they crucified Him, and with Him two other men, one on either side, and Jesus in between.” (John 19: 10-18 NASB)
- How quickly will we reach our eternity?
- Once we reach our eternal destination (the one we have personally chosen) will we be given the opportunity to re-choose (after death)?
It will be too late for You—OR—for Me to have another choice!
- Once we are deceased—It truly will be Too Late!
Furthermore, it will be too late to testify about JESUS to our family & friends!
We know this to be true because the Bible tells us so. Please read with me the words written in RED, the words of our SAVIOR, the words found within God’s Word revealing the TRUTH!
“And he cried out and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus, so that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool off my tongue, for I am in agony in this flame.’
(Luke 16: 24-26 NASB)
“But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony.
‘And besides all this, between us and you a great chasm has been set, so that those who want to go over from here to you will not be able, nor will any people cross over from there to us.’ “
ETERNITY—It Truly Is the Decision of No Return!
KingsPorch sings the melody “I Speak Jesus” reminding us through melody what should be our daily calling.
- We who believe in Jesus!
- We who have received the salvation of God!
- We who have our eternal resting place sealed through the Holy Spirit—MUST SPEAK JESUS—to the world of people who remain lost!
“Then I said, “Oh, Lord GOD!
(Jeremiah 1: 6-8 NASB)
Behold, I do not know
how to speak,
Because I am a youth.”
But the LORD said to me,
“Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’
Because everywhere I send
you, you shall go,
And all that I command
you, you shall speak.
Do not be afraid of them,
For I am with you to save
you,” declares the LORD.”
If today were the day Jesus called us home, what side of the “great chasm” would be your eternity?
- How quickly will we reach our eternity?
- Once a person is dead, it is Too Late!
We who have already chosen to ACCEPT, to BELIEVE, & who CONFESS JESUS as our LORD—must live our lives ready to meet God!
We Must Minister to our Family & Friends, for how can we say, “I Love You,” and then keep the most precious gift of truth from them?!!!
ETERNITY—It Truly Is the Decision of No Return!
Thus, let us (who believe) leave with some questions (daily questions) we (who have received God’s gift of salvation) must ask ourselves:
- Who do I worship?
- What commands my attention?
- Where am I in my obedience?
- When Jesus speaks through His Holy Spirit, do I listen & obey Him?
- Why would I not (obey Jesus) when He gave His life for me?
NO FEAR BUT ONLY OBEDIENCE!
Finally, let us (who do not yet believe) ask ourselves some questions (Today while there is still time):
- Why do I doubt the authority of Jesus?
- What do I fear in placing my trust in Jesus?
- Where will I spend my eternity?
- When my death comes, when I draw my last breath (and if it came today), on which side of the “great chasm” would I find myself?
- In WHOM should I Accept, Believe, and Confess?
- What is truly stopping me?
ETERNITY—It Truly Is the Decision of No Return!
Let us Decide & Not Delay!
