Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

The BENEFITS of GOD’S MERCY

“But the mercy of the LORD is
from everlasting to everlasting
for those who fear Him.
And His justice to the
children’s children,
To those who keep His covenant
And remember His precepts,
so as to do them.”

(Psalm 103: 17-18 NASB)

After eight months of praying for a senior pastor, after months of receiving and reading resumes and application letters, after a long season of searching, God has answered our prayer—We now have received the man God created to lead His children at my country church.

Thank You, God!

Yes, Thank You, God, for all Your Amazing Blessings!

I have always been a person who believes:  Nothing is ever left to chance!

Truly, NOTHING EVER OCCURS BY A CHANCE-HAPPENING.

HAPPENSTANCE is just not a thing.

COINCIDENTAL OCCURRENCES are really just not possible.

We’ve heard these comments as we have lived:

  • “If she had never prayed, asking for a child, she may not have been blessed with a daughter to love.”
  • “If she had just left the house five minutes earlier, then she would have been in a terrible crash.”
  • “If he had not checked everything one last time, he would not have seen the candle left burning.”
  • “If she had taken that career path, as she had planned, then she would have never met the man of her dreams.”
  • “If she had not taken maternity leave at the moment she did, then today, they would not be best friends.”
  • “If she had not said ‘Yes,’ then she would never have experienced the love and close relationship with another daughter as they now share.
  • “If he had not turned down that particular life-road, then he would never have seen God move.”
  • “If she had never walked away from the place of teaching she dearly loved, she would not have seen the absolutely beautiful way the LORD moves mountains.”
  • “If the committee had not remained persistent in prayer, then the man God had for them would never have been realized.”

“If . . .

Then . . . “

There are BENEFITS found in PLACING OUR TRUST in the LORD GOD, the CREATOR!

There is no way we can ever attribute our relationship with Jesus to a “coincidence” because from the moment of our conception, we are pursued by God.

Amazingly, God wants each one of us to come to know Him in a personal, intimate relationship!

Wrap our heads around that.

Dwell there all day.

Consider your life if God did not want you!!!

Let me consider the same:  What if God did not want me?!!!

  • Oh, how horribly sad each of our lives would be!!!

“Jesus Can” by Austin French is a melody, one that reminds us of “who” we once were and “WHOSE” we now are BECAUSE OF JESUS!

I encourage you to pause and listen to this beautiful melody right this moment.

Today, I found myself turning in God’s Word and reading David’s psalm of praise for the LORD’S MERCIES.  May we read them together.

“Bless the LORD, my soul,

And do not forget any of His benefits;

  • Who pardons all your guilt,
  • Who heals all your diseases;
  • Who redeems your life from the pit,

[God saves us from the pit of hell that our sins deserve.]

  • Who crowns you with favor and compassion;
  • Who satisfies your years with good things,

So that your youth is renewed like the eagle.

[God’s mercies are new every morning.]

  • The LORD performs righteous deeds

And judgments for all who are oppressed.

  • He made known His ways to Moses
  • His deeds to the sons of Israel.
  • The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
  • Slow to anger and abounding in mercy.
  • He will not always contend with us;
  • Nor will He keep His anger forever.

[Hallelujah!  Can We Get an “AMEN!”]

  • He has not dealt with us according to our sins,
  • Nor rewarded us according to our guilty deeds.”

[Thank You, Father, for loving sinners such as us.]

(Psalm 103 2-10 NASB)

Can we get an

“AMEN!

THANK YOU GOD FOR SENDING YOUR SON TO DIE FOR EACH ONE OF US!”

As a child of God, we have received God’s gift of salvation, of eternally remaining within His presence.

Can we get an

“AMEN!

THANK YOU GOD FOR SENDING YOUR SON TO DIE FOR EACH OF US!”

The saints of God—We have received SO MUCH!

Maybe on this day, we might need a tangible example of ALL GOD HAS GIVEN US!

So, I encourage each of us to get outside to take a walk.  Look up to the sky toward heaven.  See if you can see the end.  For as far as we can see and beyond all that we could ever see—GOD’S LOVE FOR USTRULY IMMEASURABLE!

Next, let us take a journey.  Use our phone GPS so that we walk toward the east and let us keep walking east.  If we never stopped walking in the direction of east—If we could walk east for the remainder of our lives—If we could EVER WALK FAR ENOUGH—We would eventually come back to the place we have begun because THAT’S HOW FAR GOD HAS REMOVED OUR SINS FROM US!

Once we give our life to God, & Once we have trusted in God’s Only Son—We become God’s child.

GOD HAS COMPLETELY WASHED AWAY OUR SIN—WITH THE PRECIOUS BLOOD of JESUS CHRIST HIS ONLY SON!

“For as high as the heavens
are above the earth,
So great is His mercy toward
those who fear Him.
As far as the east is from the west,
So far has He removed our
wrongdoings from us.
Just as a father has compassion
on his children,
So the LORD has compassion
on those who fear Him.
For He Himself knows our form;
He is mindful that we are
nothing but dust.”

(Psalm 103: 11-14 NASB)

NOTHING IS LEFT TO CHANCE!

NOTHING EVER OCCURS BY HAPPENSTANCE!

COINCIDENTAL OCCURRENCES REALLY ARE JUST NOT POSSIBLE!

“The LORD has established His
throne in the heavens,
And His sovereignty rules over all.”

(Psalm 103: 19 NASB)

NOTHING IS LEFT TO CHANCE!

  • No detail is too small for God, even the smallest details found in our lives.
  • God is concerned with all parts of us.

Do we know God as our Father?

If so, we know that once we give our heart to GOD, then the HOLY SPIRIT ordains our steps and helps us grow into the person we are meant to be.

NOTHING EVER OCCURS BY HAPPENSTANCE!

Since there are BENEFITS of GOD’S MERCY, we must ask ourselves:

Who Really Is the BOSS of Me?

God?

OR

Me?

COINCIDENTAL OCCURRENCES REALLY ARE JUST NOT POSSIBLE!

Whose Voice Do I Really Listen To As I Walk Through Each Day?

God’s?

OR

Mine?

THIS IS THE DAY THE LORD HAS MADE!
“As for man, his days are like grass;
Like a flower of the field,
so he flourishes.
When the wind has passed
over it, it is no more,
And its place no longer
knows about it.”

(Psalm 103: 15-16 NASB)

MAY WE EACH ASK OUR FATHER TO CENTER OUR LIVES COMPLETELY IN HIS WILL!
“But the mercy of the LORD is
from everlasting to everlasting
for those who fear Him.
And His justice to the
children’s children,
To those who keep His covenant
And remember His precepts,
so as to do them.”

(Psalm 103: 17-18 NASB)

No detail of our life is ever too small for God!

May we never—ever forget!

“Bless the LORD, all you works
of His,
In all places of His dominion;
Bless the LORD, my soul!”

(Psalm 103: 22 NASB)
