What do you enjoy most about this description of God?
When we were children, we learned “rote” prayers that we said before our meals and before our bedtime. Daily and nightly, we spoke aloud these words, repeating the words that we had memorized. Maybe we have spoken these words, and maybe even quite possibly we have not considered the actual words we have repeatedly spoken.
Consider:
“God is Great;
God is Good.
And we thank Him for our food.
By His hands, we are fed.
Give us Lord, our daily bread.
Amen.”
Truly, there is so much that we enjoy about THE GREATNESS OF GOD!
Truly, GOD IS GREAT!
Most assuredly, GOD IS GOOD!
Without reservation, WE DO THANK GOD FOR OUR DAILY FOOD & ARE SO THANKFUL THAT WE ARE FED EACH DAY!
Each day, WE ASK GOD FOR OUR DAILY PORTION, FOR OUR DAILY BREAD.
With our hands folded together, we pray each day, and at the end, we say “Amen,” fully trusting that God will provide for our needs, just as we have prayed.
Just as we have prayed.
- Does God want us to pray?
- Does God listen for our daily prayers?
- Does God take care of us before we pray, as we pray, or after we pray?
- Does God do all of the above mentioned?
What does it truly mean to be a disciple of Christ Jesus?
What does it truly mean to be part of God’s flock, of His family, to be His child?
GOD IS GREAT!—This we know!
GOD IS GOOD!—The only one “Good,” for sure!
WE ARE (DAILY) TO THANK GOD—YES, EVERY SINGLE DAY—For His provisions!
GOD DOES PROVIDE—His provisions come from HIM!
GIVE US—PLEASE GOD—GIVE US THAT WHICH WE NEED—DAILY!
AMEN & AMEN & AMEN & AMEN . . . We Pray, Humbly Asking.
So, we must ask ourselves some difficult questions.
- Is God GREATEST in our lives?
- Is God OUR SHEPHERD leading our steps?
- Is God TENDING to our needs or are we?
- Are we allowing God to CARRY us (His lambs) “in the fold of His robe”?
- Are we granting God the place of LEADERSHIP in our lives, as He nurses us, feeds us, and gently leads us to our eternal home?
What does it mean to be a disciple of Christ Jesus?
