The Day JESUS Brought Life-Change
Life change occurs (at so many times) in a heartbeat of a moment. We can be going along with our head “to the grindstone,” doing our thing called “LIFE,” and without warning, life change occurs.
Now there are a variety of ways this can occur:
- A pregnancy
- A job unexpected loss
- A car crash on a rain-slicked road.
- A sudden encounter with someone new.
- A turn in health, one that knocks us off our feet and makes us ponder LIFE & DEATH.
- A friendship shattered over misplaced words.
- A spoken word from a loved one that lands deep within our being.
Life Change.
When we are given the opportunity for life change to occur, oftentimes, we run the opposite way from the new and desire a return to what may have been our normal before the change came. Maybe that’s a natural, humankind reaction, to prefer normalcy and ordinary more than life-changing extraordinary.
In God’s Word, we see several examples of individuals just like us who experienced an extraordinary moment when they encountered Jesus. That’s Right: LIFE-CHANGING ALL BECAUSE OF JESUS!
My story could be written in the canon of faith; maybe your story could be recorded there too. It could be that our story is similar in the way we encountered Jesus when our life changed forever. However, your story may seem more fantastical than mine, but despite the intricate details, we both share a MOST EXTRAORDINARY GIFT, for when we accepted JESUS as our SAVIOR, that is the moment HE SAVED OUR SOUL & CHANGED OUR LIFE FOREVER!
Today, as I sit here in the darkness, thinking about those precious girls of mine who still slumber in their beds, I find myself praising God for the blessings of life He gives to us day-after-day. Due to the uniqueness of life, my girls came into my life when I was a bit older (in my 30s & 40s), and I am convinced that God always knows what He’s doing. Always! God knew the way these two girls would bless my life in ways unimaginable; nevertheless, it’s not often that the three of us have the opportunity to sit within the same house talking.
Last evening, we shared that gift, and as I sat across the room looking at them, I was reminded of my Father’s love. This morning, as I sat reading God’s Word, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart, reminding me of The Day JESUS Brought Life Change to My Heart!
My story is not so fantastical, but the day JESUS changed my life truly is extraordinary. I was a kid raised in a Christian family, one who went to church multiple times per week, who attended VBS and fall revivals, and one who sat at the kitchen table across from the pastor and the revival evangelist.
- Thank you Emma Lois for the VBS lessons that introduced me to the love of God.
- Thank you Ms. Pohl for the children’s church messages you preached each week.
- Thank you Lanny for challenging me as a young teen, helping me see the man named Jesus.
- Thank you dad for requiring that I go to church, for not allowing me to be a lazy kid.
- Thank you mom for living for the Lord in all you said and did within our home.
- Thank You God for birthing me into a family heritage, one rich with a spiritual heritage.
- Thank you Bro. Jim for calling the fall evangelist to share a message when I was fifteen.
That Day JESUS Brought Life-Change to me!
There are two beautiful melodies that come to my mind, ones that fits my testimony. Pause to listen with me. Be Blessed by the words of these precious melodies.
“God You Are” by Josh Baldwin & We Are Messengers.
“That’s The Thing About Praise” by Blessing Offor & Benjamin William Hastings
Since that day, I have considered the steps a person walks through when Jesus changes one’s heart, giving the person an eternity of life with Him instead of an eternity of separation. When God’s love becomes so real that we are faced with the filthiness of our sins, that’s when we also see our eternity in hell. That’s the moment we stop listening to the lies of the devil and turn toward the TRUTH of GOD.
Today, I want to share five scriptures that are life-changing.
Today, I want to share Jesus.
Today, I hope you know the Savior too.
However, if you do not yet know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, then read, really see these words of God & accept the truth of Jesus & believe in all that Jesus did upon the cross and in the tomb & confess your sins—today before your life slips away and it becomes too late!
SCRIPTURE #1—We All Have a Sin-Debt!
“But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
(Romans 3: 21-23 NASB)
but it is the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction,
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
SCRIPTURE #2—What We Deserve But What God Gives!
“But now having been freed from sin and enslaved to God, you derive your benefit, resulting in sanctification, and the outcome, eternal life.
(Romans 6: 22-23 NASB)
For the wages of sin is death, but the gracious gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
SCRIPTURE #3—Where We Are In Our Sin & What Jesus Did!
“For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
(Romans 5: 6-11 NASB)
For one will hardly die for a righteous person; though perhaps for the good person someone would even dare to die.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.
For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.
And not only this, but we also celebrate in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.”
SCRIPTURE #4—Salvation: The Fog Lifts & We See the Truth of God at His Word!
“But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching,
(Romans 10: 8-13 NASB)
that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME.”
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;
for “EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”
Jesus Himself proclaims to every man, woman, boy, and girl:
“so that everyone who believes will have eternal life in Him.
(John 3: 15-16 NASB)
For God so loved the world, that He gave His only Son, so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish, but have eternal life.”
God’s Salvation: May this Day Be the Day JESUS Brings Life-Change to you!
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
(Romans 1: 16-17 NASB)
For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written: “BUT THE RIGHTEOUS ONE WILL LIVE BY FAITH.”
