We NEED GOD So Much!
You must go!
You cannot stay here, in the place, where you have always been.
We cannot know one another in the same way, in an intimate relationship, as we have known.
You must go & I must stay.
Goodbye!
Separation is so difficult, and without a doubt, separating from someone we love has the power to pull our hearts into two pieces as we leave part of our heart there, with the one we are leaving.
- Maybe that’s the way of our emotions because God knows we can understand the pain of leaving a person we love.
- Maybe God allows us to taste that pain in order for us to (somewhat) understand the way HE longs for a relationship with us!
- That’s right: Longs for us.
God longs for us to come to know His Son as Savior & Lord!
God Does!
It’s so hard to think of God that way: with human-like emotions, but God sent Himself to the world as a babe in a manager, so HE could dwell among us—not because HE needed us—but because we Need HIM!
“For while we were still helpless, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.”
(Romans 5: 6 NASB)
Death would be unbearable if it were not for what God did for us!
God longs for us!
God desires intimate relationship with us!
God desired that intimacy with the first man—Adam.
However, that first man and his helper, Eve, sinned and now, because of the Fall of Mankind, we also sin against God.
We do! We really do!
We NEED GOD So Much!
Only through faith in Jesus, God’s Only Son, can our relationship become restored.
- We must accept the Truth of God!
- We must believe in Jesus, God’s Only Begotten Son!
- We must confess our sins against God—and God promises to receive us to Himself!
We NEED GOD So Much!
God will Always Remain Faithful to His Promise to receive us to Himself when we come to a right relationship with Jesus, His Son, the Savior of the world!
As time passes within my life, I find my appreciation for the apostles grows. Their obedience helped make a path for Gentiles, for all who were not Jewish, to come to know Christ Jesus. To say I appreciate them does not even really come close to the depth of my emotion. Let’s look together at an opportunity Simon Peter was given to preach the Good News, and let’s see his obedience.
“Opening his mouth, Peter said:
(Acts of the Apostles 10: 34-44 NASB)
“I most certainly understand now that God is not one to show partiality,
but in every nation the one who fears Him and does what is right is acceptable to Him.
The word which He sent to the sons of Israel, preaching peace through Jesus Christ (He is Lord of all)—
you yourselves know the thing that happened throughout Judea, starting from Galilee, after the baptism which John proclaimed.
You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.
We are witnesses of all the things that He did both in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross.
God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He be revealed,
not to all the people, but to witnesses . . .
And He ordered us to preach to the people, and to testify solemnly that this is the One who has been appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead.
All the prophets testify of Him, that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”
While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message.”
We NEED GOD So Much!
EVERYONE DOES!
That is why God sent Jesus, His Only Son, to come to earth & to dwell among us.
Yet that’s not all God did for us!
“You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, . . .”
However, the entire world of people did not receive Jesus.
“in the country of the Jews and in Jerusalem. They also put Him to death by hanging Him on a cross.”
HALLELUJAH!
“God raised Him up on the third day and granted that He be revealed,”
- People need God!
- People need to hear the Gospel message of Jesus Christ.
- People need to come to know the Savior of the world.
So, once we individually see our need for Jesus, we are commissioned.
We are not taken immediately to heaven for one purpose, for one solitary reason:
We NEED GOD So Much!
EVERYONE DOES!
“And He ordered us to preach to the people, and to testify solemnly that this is the One who has been appointed by God as judge of the living and the dead . . . testify of Him, that through His name everyone who believes in Him receives forgiveness of sins.”
(Acts of the Apostles 10: 42-43 NASB)
“Yes To The Cost” by the Christian band Pennell is a melody that God’s children need to listen to today as we sense God’s prompting, God’s calling, God’s will for the days He gives us to live.
May we read the account in the Acts of the Apostles, &
May we heed God’s call to be witnesses of Him.
May we pause to listen to this beautiful melody.
May we obey God because human beings are dying every single day—LOST!
And it is a truth—We NEED GOD So Much!
“I affirm, brothers and sisters, by the boasting in you which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, that I die daily.”
(1 Corinthians 15: 31 NASB)
