Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

What if Christ Never Came?

“The people who walk in darkness
Will see
a great light;
Those who live in a dark land,
The light will shine on them.”

(Isaiah 9:2 NASB)

The Mighty God.

  • Strength.
  • Warrior.

Power over storms, diseases, demons, sin, & (of course)—death!

  • The Beginning—the Firstborn!
  • The Middle—the Savior of the world!
  • The End—the Incarnate!

What if Christ Never Came?

“For He rescued us from the domain of darkness, and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation:
for by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones, or dominions, or rulers, or authorities—
all things have been created through Him and for Him.
He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.”

(Colossians 1: 13-17 NASB)

Without Jesus, our destiny is set.

  • We are born.
  • We live.
  • We die.
  • We spend eternity separated.

But God sent His Son!

But God sent Himself in the flesh!

But God turned BC into AD.

But God gave us Himself & His Word in the flesh & His-Story.

But God gave us a reason to celebrate!

What if Christ Never Came?

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.”

(John 1: 1-2 NASB)

But God Intervened—for us.

“But God so loved the world, . . .” Yes! The whole world, the entire humanity:  every boy, every girl, every woman, and every man.

What if Christ Never Came?

  • We would have—NO HOPE, NO ASSURANCE. NO ETERNAL PRESENCE WITH GOD!
  • We would have no baby Jesus who the shepherds traveled to visit and to worship!
  • We would have no child Jesus who the magi traveled from afar to bring gifts and to worship!
  • We would have no Son of God who came to give His life upon the cross of Calvary!
  • We would have no resurrected Savior of the world!
  • We would have no reason to learn from our past, no reason to know God, to desire change—His Salvation!
  • We would have no reason to seek to know “the way, the truth, and the life.” !
  • We would have no treasure, no Redeemer, no One Worthy of all our praise!
  • We would have no King of kings!
  • We would have no reason to tell others how Jesus is the “name above all names.” !
  • We would have no completion!
  • We would have no real message of Christmas!
  • We would have no reason to give one another presents!
  • We would have no reason to celebrate!
  • We would have no Jesus Christ—Emmanuel—God’s Presence With Us!

What if Christ Never Came?

“However, it was our sicknesses that He Himself bore,
And our pains that He carried;
Yet we ourselves assumed that He had been afflicted,
Struck down by God, and humiliated.
But He was pierced for our offenses,
He was crushed for our wrongdoings;
The punishment for our well-being was laid upon Him,
And by His wounds we are healed.
All of us, like sheep, have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the LORD has caused the wrongdoing of us all
To fall on Him.”

(Isaiah 53: 4-6 NASB)

Pure Humility—The Birth of Jesus.

The Incarnation of Almighty God.

  • May we gaze upon the manger.
  • May we see pure holiness.

There HE lay in the stable manger.

  • May we Exult HIM!
  • May we Exult JESUS!
  • May we Exult GOD in the FLESH!
  • May we pause in our hurried state and REALLY SEEwhat this world would be likeIf Christ Never Came!

“God with us” by Mercy Me is a beautiful melody to help us focus upon the ONLY REASON to CELEBRATE the birth of BABY JESUS—CHRIST-mas.
