GOD’S Will—BEST!—GOD Is Faithful, Forevermore!
“Your kingdom come,
Your will be done, . . .”
(Matthew 6: 10 NASB)
Today is a special day—a Friday, October 21st—Yet, until 2015, I did not realize the importance of this ordinary, late October day. Then, I did.
During a late October day in 2015, a new student was placed into my classroom, a “holding place” for her until the new classes began. So often, I have spoken this story to others, trying to explain the depth of this gift God has given (yes, most definitely a gift from God). Truly, I fail as I try to reveal the depth of love I have come to know for this “once” student who has now become my second “daughter.” Happy Birthday, sweet girl. God knew what a difference your presence would make to my life when He created you back on October 21, 1998.
- When God created this beautiful child, HE KNEW how her presence would strengthen my prayer life.
- When God created this strong child, HE KNEW how her strength would lead me to seek HIS will.
- When God created this loving child, HE KNEW how her smile and hugs would lead my heart to love another, deeply and completely.
GOD KNEW & THANK YOU GOD THAT YOU DID!
We cannot always see the BIG picture for our lives because we stay so busy living within the moments, within the days, within the smallness of our lives. That is why God draws us to step into His will and experience His Goodness. God leads us where we would never go on our own. His faithfulness to keep us forevermore—REMAINS—even when our unfaithfulness rears its ugly self. God sees our future even though we only see our today and our past days. What a blessing it is to know that God will walk us through our tomorrow, even while we are currently living within our today. Thank You God for Your Faithfulness. Yes, Thank YOU!
God’s kingdom will come & God’s purpose will be done!
- Are we praying for that today?
- Are we seeing how Jesus taught His disciples to pray, and are we praying for that this day?
“Father,
Thank You for those you give us to love, for gifting them with birthdays to celebrate.
Thank You for changing our lives as we go.
Please, God, allow Your kingdom to reign here, yes, right here in our lives (and in my life)—THIS DAY.
Please, God, allow us to walk through today with only YOUR agenda, YOUR purpose, YOUR will firmly directing our steps.
Please, God, we ask for this.
God, we ask for YOUR will to become our will, and we petition in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
Birthdays come, hopefully, every year, and as they do, then we celebrate how we are a work in progress. We examine where we’ve been and where we hope to go. I wonder, do we have a mission statement, a vision, a proclamation for who we are & WHOSE we are, as we go, as we walk throughout the days Almighty God has given us to live?
Today, yes this day may be the perfect day to grab a pencil and paper and our Bible so that we can begin to become serious about this life God has given us to live. TODAY can be our day to GROW-UP in the LORD. Are we ready? Are we serious about our walk with God?
Are—We?
- Are we allowing the Holy Spirit to lead our steps?
- Are we allowing God to form the words we speak?
- Are we giving God control over our lives?
- Are we serving in the places HE leads us to serve?
- Are we studying God’s Word as much as we should?
- Are we praying as Jesus Christ, Himself, taught us to pray?
- Are we growing up in our walk with God, in the sanctification of our soul, as we should? &
- Are we cognizant of the way God is growing us up in Him as we grow older in years?
- Are we concerned for the lost souls that come into our lives and into our hearts?
- Are we caring for the oppressed, the hurt, & the wayward?
- Are we making Jesus known as we go?
- Are we writing our words, speaking the words, using our hands, and down upon our knees as we should be?
- Are we living our lives with no regrets as we LIVE-OUT GOD’S WILL?
- Are we seeking for GOD’S KINGDOM TO COME TODAY?
In God’s Word, we find the beloved apostle John recording the words of Jesus as the Son of God comforted His disciples before His crucifixion. Let’s read them together.
“Truly, truly I say to you, the one who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I am going to the Father.
And whatever you ask in My name, this I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.
If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.”
(John 14: 12-15 NASB)
It is a truth, we just do not know what this day will bring, but God does.
It is TRUTH, God is Good & God is Faithful—Always!
It is TRUTH, God’s commands are Trustworthy—Forevermore!
It is TRUTH, God is Steadfast & Upright—Eternally!
It is TRUTH!
Yes, Thank You, Father—YOUR Will—Is BEST!—Because GOD, YOU Are Faithful, Forevermore!
“The works of His hands are truth and justice;
All HIS precepts are trustworthy.They are upheld forever and ever;
They are performed in truth and uprightness.
HE has sent redemption to HIS people;
HE has ordained His covenant forever;
Holy and awesome is HIS name.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom;
All those who follow HIS commandments have a good understanding;
HIS praise endures forever.”
(Psalm 111: 7-10 NASB)
