The Whisper & The Shout of Joy As Our Fog Lifts!
On the drive to the university where I teach, there is a common phenomenon I see almost every morning. Yesterday was no exception. The rising sun appears in my rearview window, even as the darkness of the west fills my eyes. Yesterday, another person rode with me, a person I dearly love. As we approached this place on our drive west, she was overcome with awe as we descended the hill, insightfully (as if for the first time) seeing the wall of fog ahead. We descended the hill, entering into and driving through the encompassing fog, only to speed forward across the highway bridge, ascending out of the blanket of fog that arose from the water below us.
“It’s like entering a different dimension,” she whispered beside me, awed by the magnificence of the heavy fog that surrounded our vehicle, blanketing us so it seemed we were totally alone with God.
Is that not a perfect description of our Father God’s salvation!
Is that not a most wondrous picture of a lost soul’s encounter with Almighty God as He changes us from within, filling us with His Holy Spirit!
“But when the kindness of God our Savior and His love for mankind appeared,
He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we did in righteousness, but in accordance with His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit,
whom He richly poured out upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.”
(Titus 3: 4-7 NASB)
In a millisecond, in our belief and confession, we are totally & completely forever changed!
At the exact moment of our encounter with Jesus, we see the TRUTH!
Suddenly, we are set free!
We arise, entering a different dimension, coming out of the fog of human opinion to enter a new and everlasting dimension of God’s Salvation of our soul.
Immediately—
- As we proclaim belief in God,
- As we acknowledge our sinfulness and our need for our Savior, &
- As we cry out to God, asking Him to save us—HE DOES!
Almighty God saves our soul!
The shed blood of Christ Jesus covers the multitude of our sins!
God’s Holy Spirit completely fills our being!
We are suddenly and miraculously transformed, arising to a totally new dimension. The phenomenon overwhelms us, wholly and completely. TRUSTWORTHY. The testimony of our LORD brings joy to our hearts, as the simple becomes wise, enlightening our mind, heart, and soul. WE ARE AMAZINGLY TRANSFORMED—as the veil of fog departs, giving way to the restoration of our soul. We are forever set free!
We can read God’s Word as we read a book, and we will be changed because the Word of God is living, diving into the depth of one’s being. Yet, then, we can also search as we read God’s Word, searching for the truth, knowing with all of our being that we are lost without God. It is a fear that permeates our being. It is a fear that penetrates to our soul. We cry out to God, “I believe. Save me, God. Forgive me. I need You. Save me, dear God. Please, sweet Jesus, come not into my heart.”
Fully. Completely. Yes, we may not fully understand “how” God saves our soul, but WE KNOW HE DID because we sense the way we have been changed. The whisper of God comes from inside our heart, and the shout of joy as the LORD enters our heart as our fog of understanding—LIFTS.
Yes, we sense the internal change. Oh, Yes, praise God, the fog has lifted.
We have suddenly arisen and entered a new dimension.
We know it, & we are never going back!
Insight is beautiful.
We will NEVER return to the place of confusion, to the lies, to the deceit of the devil, or to the eternal lostness we faced—ever again!
WE ARE FOREVER SAVED BY ALMIGHTY GOD!
Once we become a child of God, once we confess with our mouth and once we believe in our heart that Jesus Christ is LORD, we are a child forevermore! Never will we ever be snatched from the hand of Almighty God. We have nothing at all to ever fear. How do we know? The Bible tells us so, and we believe the truth of God’s Holy Word. YES, We trust God at His Word!
In writing, I heard a wonderful melody playing, reminding that our struggles, our trials, our sickness, our anything here on earth is not the end. We who know God have nothing to fear.

The Living Word of God is VALID & RELIABLE TRUTH!
INTERNAL PEACE.
COMPLETE REST.
OVERWHELMING JOY.
Salvation is pure, simple, complete, and ONLY POSSIBLE THROUGH JESUS!
As a child of Holy God—
- Will we share Jesus today?
- Will we go where God’s Holy Spirit leads?
- Will we obey Almighty God with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength?
Almighty God saves our soul!
The shed blood of Christ Jesus covers the multitude of our sins!
God’s Holy Spirit completely fills our being!
- Maybe we are reading this today, and we are saved; we know the fullness of Christ.
- Maybe we are reading this today, and we are wandering within the fog of indecision as we ask ourselves: Is God who He really says He is? & If He is, how can I know Him and receive His free gift of salvation?
Let us stop right here.
Let us not read anyone’s words but God’s Word as we see together the TRUTH of God.
“But what does it say? “THE WORD IS NEAR YOU, IN YOUR MOUTH AND IN YOUR HEART”—that is, the word of faith which we are preaching.
that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
For the Scripture says, “WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE PUT TO SHAME.”
For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek; for the same Lord is Lord of all, abounding in riches for all who call on Him;
for EVERYONE WHO CALLS ON THE NAME OF THE LORD WILL BE SAVED.”
