Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

Living So the World Sees—HE Is Our LORD!

If we belong to Christ, we have been given the right to refer to ourselves as God’s chosen people, but the question comes:  Is one person greater or more important than another?

In the Old Testament, God called the children of Israel “my chosen ones,” but that does not mean God loves some more than others. It is a TRUTH—God loves all people, not just those of a certain heritage, who come from a certain land, and who speak a particular language.  In God’s eyes, His creation is all alike.

God does not have any favorites & God loves all people just the same.

Today, I am pondering this biblical truth recorded in God’s holy & infallible Word.

Please read this Scripture with me, see the words of Jesus as he spoke to His disciples, really see the parable as we consider what we have been given & what God expects of us.

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded, and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.”

(Luke 12: 48b NASB 2020)

In the Word of God, Jesus tells us that He is our Lord if we do what He says.

We also read how the world will know He is our Lord when they see how we obey our Master.

The Bible says that He came to make a way for all people to come to know Him.

Jesus Himself tells us that to know Him is to know Father God.

He reminds us over and over throughout the entirety of the Scriptures:  God is love!

Today, I wonder if we believe what Jesus speaks to our being.

Yes, I am perplexed—Does the world around me see Jesus alive and living through me?

Through—

  • My actions,
  • My reactions,
  • My words,
  • My thoughts,
  • My attitude,
  • My self-control,
  • My habits,
  • My faithfulness,
  • My prayer life,
  • My dedication to the study of God’s Word,
  • My love for others,
  • My focus upon Jesus, &
  • Through—My Everything!

“If we approach each person we meet as an opportunity to demonstrate love, we’ll make good progress at putting away prejudice from our midst.”—Charles Swindoll, (Bible scholar and author)

In the gospel of Luke, Jesus spoke a parable to His disciples to remind them of what He expects.

“Be prepared, and keep your lamps lit.

You are also to be like people who are waiting for their master when he returns from the wedding feast, so that they may immediately open the door for him when he comes and knocks.

Blessed are those slaves whom the master will find on the alert when he comes;  truly I say to you, that he will prepare himself to serve, and have them recline at the table, and he will come up and serve them.

Whether he comes in the second watch or even in the third, and finds them so, blessed are those slaves.

But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what hour the thief was coming, he would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

You too, be ready;  because the Son of Man is coming at an hour that you do not think He will.”

(Luke 12: 35-40 NASB 2020)
  • As God’s child, we are to Live So the World Sees—HE Is Our LORD!

God loves all people &

God wants all people to come to know His Son as Savior & Redeemer!

Does the world see Jesus living within us?

Does the world see God’s love touching everything we speak, do, and think?

  • As a child of God, we—Have been given SO MUCH!!!!
  • As a child of God, we—Have been given the Grace and Mercy of Almighty God!!!!

What does God expect of you & of me—in response to His gift of Salvation?

It is an easy question to answer; we only need to open God’s Word.

“From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded, and to whom they entrusted much, of him they will ask all the more.”

(Luke 12: 48b NASB 2020)
