A walk through life toward eternity

The Type of LOVE God Has For Us

Is God in the band aid business?  If we have a gaping, bloody wound, does God give us a band aid type of covering, you know the kind that, when wet, becomes less sticky and falls off and must be replaced with a new band aid.  Is that the type of love God has for us?

Is God in the business of turning away from our concerns, of ignoring our hurts?  If we are overwhelmed with a fear, with a worry, with a huge mountain standing in our path, does God look the other way and find someone else to concern Himself with today?  Is that the type of love God has for us?

The answer to both is a HUGE—NO!

The answer to both is a RESOUNDING—NOOOOOOOO!

The Bible tells us so plainly how much God loves us (in so many passages)—reminding us over and over of His Truth—God Has Established a Certain Type of Love For Us!

One such Scripture is found in the apostle Paul’s letter to the Christians living in Colossae.

SEE WITH ME GOD’S INFALLIBLE (UNCHANGING) WORD.

“And when you were dead in your wrongdoings and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our wrongdoings.”

(Colossians 2: 13 NASB 2020 ed.)

God Has Established a Certain Type of Love For Us!

God did!

  • Before we were even known to our parents, God knew us.
  • Before we were old enough to speak a lie, lash out in anger, or think a bad thought, (even then, when we were precious babies cared by our parents) God knew us.
  • Before everything—God knew us—&—God loved us So Much that He Made a Way for Us to be Alive Together With Him!

Therefore, we have nothing to worry about when it comes to worrying about tomorrow.  God has taken care of tomorrow for us—already.

Holocaust survivor, Corrie Ten Boom, described worry this way, and I find that I like her way of thinking.  A lady who could have felt fear at every moment of every day for the season of time when she was held captive inside a Holocaust camp—Did Not Fear what mankind could do to her.  No, instead, she began a woman’s Bible study with the memorized Scripture she brought with her into the camp.  Boom said, “Worry is a cycle of inefficient thoughts whirling around a center of fear.”
