Morning Thoughts

A walk through life toward eternity

What Do We Most Need Today?

Today is for the ladies.

Today is for the gentlemen.

Today is for those who seek to follow the LORD.

We have just celebrated Resurrection Sunday (Easter), and even now, days later, still we remain within the Easter season—until the Day of Pentecost.  In 2022, this day will come on Sunday, June 5, and on this day, we will celebrate how Jesus promised to never leave us without Himself.  The crucifixion & the death of Jesus—a most horrible event & the resurrection of our Savior—a most wonderful blessing to all who believe.  Before Jesus left the earth, He gave His disciples (and us) a promise—the coming of His Holy Spiritthe Comforterthe Sustainerthe One Who Leads Our Stepsthe One Who Convicts Us of Our Sinsthe One Who Leads Us to Christ Jesusthe One Who Leads Us to Know Jehovah God.

What do we most need today?

  • Healing?
  • Forgiveness?
  • Compassion?
  • Love?
  • Trust?
  • Grace?
  • Humility?
  • Guidance?
  • Peace?
  • Faith?
  • Courage?
  • Mercy?

Our Gracious Father Supplies All We Need & So Much More!

This morning, a melody spoke to me, one that led me to receive God’s Word deep into my being.  Allow me to share a piece of the lyrics with you, and maybe there will be an opportunity for you to listen.

SEU Worship sings these words:

“I want to walk with You/Talk with You/Spend all my days with You.

Where You lead is where I want to go.

You’re always listening, leading me, walking right next to me.

I know You’re someone I can trust.

Jesus, my Friend & my God.”

“Walk With You”

We are not called to moaning & remorse; We are called to repentance.

We are not called to running & striving; We are called to turning & change.

What do we most need today?

I read a staggering statistic:  “157,690 people currently die daily without Christ.”  In fact, “more people will die lost today than on any other day upon which the sun has risen in human history,” (Dr. Paul Chitwood). Spiritual lostness is a REALITY; we must be on-mission!

Oftentimes, we read the book of Proverbs and when we come to the final chapter, we immediately either dismiss the chapter because—We are male OR we dismiss the chapter because—We are unmarried.

Today, let us realize that ALL of God’s Word is written for ALL of God’s Creation!

Proverbs is written for those who seek to follow the LORD.

Proverbs is written for those who wish to find wisdom.

Proverbs is written to remind us that “fearing the LORD” is a heart posture.

Proverbs is written to remind us that we need to seek the godly qualities that matter to our Father God.

What do we most need today?

WE NEED JESUS!

WE NEED FATHER GOD!

WE NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT!

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.”

(Proverbs 9: 10)

Recognizing who God is & His place in my life is “the fear of the LORD.”

Satan has absolutely NOTHING to offer those who do not choose to follow Christ Jesus!

Let’s hear that again, just to make sure we see the significance of the difference between the thief Satan

&

Our SAVIOR and Our LORD!

Satan has absolutely NOTHING to offer those (lost people) who do NOT CHOOSE to FOLLOW CHRIST JESUS!

Satan comes to STEAL & to KILL.

Jesus came to SAVE!

THE TRUTH!

THE ABSOLUTE TRUTH OF GOD—

GOD HAS EVERYTHING TO OFFER THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO FOLLOW HIM!

What do we most need today?

We need to seek the LORD!

We need to fear the LORD!

We need to walk with our LORD!

We need His Holy Spirit to lead us, & as He does, we will produce these godly characteristics within our lives—

  • Trustworthiness.
  • To Be Hard=Working.
  • To Be Ethical.
  • To Be Motivated.
  • To Have a Heart for Our Family & Those We Have Been Given to Love.
  • Modesty.
  • To Be Good Stewards of our Money & God’s Resources He Supplies.
  • To Help the Poor.
  • Compassion.
  • To Not Walk In Fear of What We Cannot Control.
  • To Trust God.
  • Preparedness.
  • Humility.
  • Kindness.
  • To Seek Wisdom Daily.
  • To Trust the LORD moment-by-moment.
  • To Walk in a Dignified Manner.
  • To Use the Knowledge God Supplies to Make Wise Decisions.
  • To Be Savvy.
  • To Have a Reputation of Character.

Above All—To Fear our LORD GOD ALMIGHTY!

“The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.”

(Proverbs 9: 10)
